And actually there is no set time for making hash. Some spend months doing it, like some Afghans and Indians. Others spend weeks, like most Morocans. If you use high pressure hydraulics you dont even need heat and can do it in hours. There is no standard. Many different methods. Kief is generally thought of as being loose powder. When it is pressed it is called hash. But as said, technically it is hash even in loose form.

If you take the temp of the resin coming out of the press onto the parchment it is cooler than you think, and cools down very rapidly. I like to press on the edge of my iron not the middle so all the resin is not smashed in between the heat plates for the whole press time. This way I do notice it just runs out and and away from the heat. Uhhh...no. It is for convenience. For exerting less muscle power and for saving time.
And yes...this lends itself nicely for commercial production. But that is not what degrades quality. What does that is a guy who is under pressure to crank out kilo after kilo of the stuff and diesnt care to do it properly.
But hash made carefully in a hydraulic press is just as good as any other. I mean for fuck sakes...how the pressure is applied doesn't make a damn bit of difference to the material. Pressure is pressure no matter how it is exerted. The only difference in amount of pressure and time.

You have plenty enough heat to decarb but possibly short on time, you have to lab test to really see how effective it was. You do not get my point I think, the emphasis is on the word "extraction" as opposed to sieved, you take away a big part of the equation when you collect only the dissolved resin. The shell and what is inside is what actually create the cannabinoids and you take it away without the knowledge of what it is, I think it is a mistake to extract with butane, C02, alcohol, heat, etc for that simple reason.
