Lumatek does not honor their warranties

Hydrofarm dropped Lumatek over 2 years ago what Sunlight does I have no idea. I'm well versed in this industry, I still own my shop which is probably one of the nicest shops in the country. Notice I did not promote another brand of ballast that I sell nor am I promoting my shop as I did not want to be "that guy" facts are facts. Lumatek doesn't care about you or your garden. More so when Hydrofarm dropped them I was the first in my area to buy Lumatek direct thats why I deal with them directly on my warranty issues.
I'm not here steering anyone to another brand of ballast as I would gladly like to promote what I sell. I simply wanted to help with the confusion if it's true or not. Our experience with them is it's 1000% true they will not even discuss a warranty issue with you on the phone. Chris at Lumatek would say hold on let me check on your RMA and would never get back on the phone, seems to be to many people with the same story for it to be false info.
Concerning Lumatek,
I have just experienced the same problem with that asshole Chris over at Lumatek. Shot a email over to them the other day first thing in the morning and got a reply from him. First couldn't understand a damn thing he was saying over his blue tooth. I asked him to please call me back on a real line so we could understand each other, said no problem. Guess what? I'm still waiting for him to call me back. I have since sent multiple emails and called. Seems that Lumatek is in the process of going out of business. Sunlight Supply has dropped them also.Seems they don't give a shit about us. Tired of dealing with all these assholes in this game. They sell you on their warranty and then when you need it cause their ballasts are crap they don't take care of you. Sorry my rant for the day...

This is 100% true, I am a shop owner, I've been trying to get a ballast warranted since September 12, 2014 for a customer. It is now December 13th. They may answer the phone but if you say warranty they put you on hold and never pick up. Some ass named Chris works for them and is the biggest smuck I ever had to deal with in this industry. NO ONE should buy from this company they are horrible people and don't care about you or your hard earned money.
I submit they DO care about your money.

you should have seen the stack of trash lumateks at the shop I frequent, most of them with melted plastic parts.
One dual 600 looked like it could have started a nice fire.
Just got my new phantom !phantomDE.jpg

How much height to ceiling do you need to run those 1000w DE's?
Barely enough, I'm gonna have to change my style of growing, as if I have a style.
The reflector I bought will help and IF I have to I'll dim a bit but I'll be running a AC/DE hood.
It's very low profile and will also be on a lightrail so these things will help out.
A friend of a friend runs the hydrofarm DE hood and ballast at 24 inches above canopy without a problem.

Good luck those are some bad ass lights you will get a lot once dialed in.

gonna be running co2 also . Should be interesting.
The only problem may be heat but then with the AC hood and being on a rail (this also helps with heat) I've got about 4500 btu worth of cooling. If I have to this light has cost me enough to upgrade the chiller to 1 horse and add a heat exchanger or two to the room.
Right now I'm going to try to cool using a half horse chiller , a 8 inch ice box and a 6 inch ice box. The co2 gen I'll cool passively with nothing but unchilled water.
Dunno how it's gonna work out but in the end it will.

Run some organic soil and you wont have that problem, you could keep that CO2 as well and get some stanky dank.
Well, I can't deny for taste and aroma, soil or soil less organics is the way to go but for yield and ease it's hydro all the way.

My comp on the fritz went to edit that post and it got deleted , anyway yea I had a 3 bucket hydro system and I was pulling huge yields like you said I agree hydro is some bulky stuff. Quantum ballasts suck too but they at least honor their warranty I had a faulty one that was humming at 100% power then died within 3 months of buying it. Hydro store guy took it back and I paid 60$ difference and got a galaxy grow amp and I love it.

And here's another reason to buy lighting from HTG Supply only , only manufacturer i know of where you get a full 5 yr no questions asked Guarantee, you speak directly with the manufacturer & they ship replacement ballasts in 3 days to your door .

Ive bought nearly 50 digital ballasts from them & one went bad 6 months past guarantee & they sent me a new ballast anyway .

I wouldnt buy anything electronic from any other store , those little mom n pop shops are a crap shoot , a good hydro shop should provide you a loaner ballast at the very least while they haggle with the people they buy from , you should name the grow shop who told you its your problem so others dont fuk with them .

The shop I frequent does just that, you buy a ballast from them and it goes down they give you a loaner until replacement is made, which they handle 100 percent.

Thats the way it should be with hydro shops , its so simple to retain customers with simple customer service like loaner ballasts & such .

Thats why i asked him to name the shitty shop that turned their back on him , not a smart business owner thats for sure .

When i still owned majority shares in the co-op i had a policy where employees were to treat every customer as if they were big spenders , you never know who's gonna come back & drop a big load of cash & it could be the guy who spent $10 yesterday , sounds like the shop you use has a mind for doing good business .

My shop does me right, that's why I've stuck with them for years now and watched them grow.
They come real close to the cheapest online prices and I like them a lot.
Thanks J and K.

Lumatek tried to back door one of the popular distributors in North America and before the deal was done (to become sole distributor for nice kick backs) the main distributor dropped them and the other one because of lack of product on part of Lumatek dropped them as well. Went out of business in North America because of that. Should not I have a couple but haven't had any problems yet.but got it discounted because I knew there was no warranty. That's the TRUTH
