A 20 gallon smart pot will double your yield vs those 18 gallon totes. Are you really saving money that way? I bought 10- 25 gallon fabric pots for $57 delivered to my house.
TMB-
They must be cheaper in the states, In Canada the cheapest i could find for 20's was $16-24. The Cheepest 5pack i found was $60 and $45 for shipping plus whatever duty id have to pay when they arrive. Ive found a local shop that carries them for a decent price, so hopefully. In the next year or two ill be able to make the change, but for now ill have.to stay with the tubs.

Probably not apt for you fellas, but you can use t posts and landscape fabric to make your own "smart" pots, and have the posts to trellis off of. Nice plants you got here! Getting me so anxious for mine this year.

Thanks for looking out TMB unfortunately its only free shipping for continental US. after the exchange rate the price is $46 cad +8% tax for state of NY. and plus 14% tax for my gov't. and any other import fees they decide to add on that day. ive always found that theres hidden costs anytime ive ordered from the states to canada on ebay.

Top idea and i was gonna use that stuff...gotta be careful even if u have a pro stitch it together when i went and tried to do it he said if its a 60 gallon or more its gonna be pushing it to hold together with the soils weight ...dunno maybe he just didnt wanna do the job for me ?

I apreciate you looking into it for me though! Im confident that the 18gals will fill my needs for this year. They are still way better than my pots last year. and the 1 plant i had in an 18g tub was 12 oz.

I run some cheap field fencing to the t posts on the outsides of the fabric, use baling wire to hold everything, overlap the ends of the fabric. Baling wire is cheap and easy to use and pokes through the fabric.

I have made 3ft tall 4ft wide and however long you want it to be. tip: make it wide enough for a wheelbarrow or tractor bucket.
