91% ISO vs 100% Acetone to Winterize

I have about two ounces of wax I just blasted, but want to try to winterize this batch. My friend successfully used 91% ISO in his freezer to winterize a smaller batch, and it did pull some waxes out. I recently found a place nearby that sells 100% acetone, and was wondering if this would do a better job using mason jars and coffee filters in a freezer than with 91% ISO.

I read that acetone doesn't have to be in the freezer as long before it starts pulling things off. I wanted to ask you guys before I tried it though because when I ask first I make a lot less mistakes. lol. I live in Cali so the highest ISO I can get my hands on is the 91%.

of course everclear would be a better option
since they do not sell it in Cali you could order some from winechateau.com
you can also order 99% iso off of amazon

I don't winterize w acetone, as it would dissolve the waxes as well. It's better to purge w if your careful not to get plastic or rubber in the mix. It's also really nice to splash a bit of it to a bho extraction to help w yeilding a bit more than butane can do alone.

I live in CA also and buy the iso 99 at Safeway

The length of the washes has alot to do with it, and also freezing the material and the alcohol will help alot. I never leave material in contact with alcohol for more then 30-40 seconds. The first wash turns out golden and delicious, the second wash turns out darker but usually still real nice, and the third wash is really dark and usually only gets used for edibles. When you evap you want to use as little heat as possible, or none at all. It takes longer to evap without the heat, but it retains more smell, taste, and color. Another key to quality is to filter the solution after you wash the material. I always freeze it for a few hours, and then filter it in the freezer through mutiple layers of coffee filter to remove any sediment. This leaves me with a very nice and clean oil after about 24-48 hours of evap with no heat.
