Lol its Charleston we have everything here that's for sure.
to be honest, i feel for the officer.

i watched the his dashcam and frankly, he did nothing wrong.

what happened was, the guy was sitting in his car..everyone polite..guy got out of his car to 'explain' something to officer; was told to get back in his car..nothing wrong with that..what happens now is what's wrong..

with what looked like another passenger in his car, the guy just up and bolted.

imho..that's pretty suspect.

cop didn't know if this guy was armed, had drugs or arms in the car or who that other person was (although judging on shadow: female)

he did not have complaint history (albeit one tazer incident he received a complaint over).

not a problematic officer by any means.

something was going on there..the guy also had some story about the car..he didn't own or have insurance (the owner was allowing him to drive for a few before purchasing). to the officer, he's driving someones car that he has no paperwork on. is it stolen? maybe.

now did the officer handle apprehending him correctly thereafter? no.

so, based upon drivers actions..i'm gonna say he brought this on himself for his 'hinky'.

schuylaar's personal advice when dealing with the police: don't run, they will chase you:wall:

this was not 'i can't breathe' by any stretch of the imagination..

I agree but pulling a trigger 8 times while running away is not needed and unjustified. I think the cop should be punished but his attorney Andy savage gets everyone off everything. He is that good so I highly doubt he will have a murder against him. The shooting happens as you seen in advance parking lot on remount Rd. The building you see is called the muffler shop..... pretty busy area.

My two cents isn't worth a plug nickel.... but here goes.
I get a little fed up with all the finger pointing and accusations against the "just us" system. Don't take that to mean I believe the officers have no fault .....but......Think people!
Most of us pay our taxes and therefore their salary. So They are doing what I, You, We pay them for. I have yet to see a single case where the situation escalated to violence before some idiot gets mouthy and/or refuses to cooperate.
So, if we are both innocent standing on a corner and a cop walks up and says "face down on the ground with your hands behind your head" I lay down, you yell and jump around....asking why? ..... and get shot.
Who is in the wrong?
Me?
You?
or the Cop....Who by the way just got a call that two people matching our descriptions robbed the store around the corner and shot the clerk.

a cop can not just walk up and order anything. You have right to free travel in the u.s. the cops are suppose to be the law not above the law as they act. The police are not the military. If police were normal nice police like 20+ years ago we would not have this craziness and all this cop crap. I will scream it till I die FUCK THE POLICE. My brother in law is a police officer and he tells me fucked up stories about shit they do to peoole

again, i agree the take down was not correct, but one moment the cop is on his computer checking the car out and next moment he has to give chase to this guy.

adrenaline is pumping..and i believe he shot those 8 because the guy wasn't dropping..didn't the guy still have the tazer probes in him?

that's fucking crazy when you can still run while being tazed, albeit however slow, he was still on the move.

schuylaar's prediction: case dismissed.

i truly did not see any malice intended on that driver..he made his own bed by running.

running from the police is the easiest way to a beatdown..why bring it?

this guy had something to hide.

it was clear from the beginning, when he was stumbling over his words (and changing the story) why he had a car that didn't belong to him..not registered/insured.

listen closely to when he was first stopped, put on your earbuds to catch the conversation.

So if you run, cops should be justified to shoot you in the back even as you pose no threat to them?

Running from the police is not an excuse for deadly force.

Stumbling over your words because your nervous isn't a reason to be killed.

Driving an uninsured vehicle isn't punishable by the death penalty.

Being behind on child support isn't punishable by the death penalty.

Apparently you feel this man should have been killed all for the crime of being a nervous black man who didn't want to be booked for not paying child support.

If the man did anything to truly make that officer fear for his life, the officer would have drawn his gun to begin with.

Cops can't be bothered with a foot pursuit anymore, they rather kill an unarmed, fleeing man and try to frame him afterwards.

.

no.

it's why he ran.

the guy changed his words around during initial interaction.

- then -

he got out of car to 'talk' more..bad move..always stay in your car.

- then -

he bolted because he knew something was going to be found.

i don't think all the facts have been supplied to us yet.

how much do you want to bet there's more to this story?

because benghazi!

I'm sure there is more to the story but not a damn thing that justifies an unarmed man being shot in the back for fleeing an officer.

He bolted because a warrant was out for his arrest for missing child support payments. He had been arrested three times before for not paying child support.

And how does any of that justify shooting a fleeing man in the back?

that's the point.

how do you know?

a warrant for child support? hmmmm in most states it's auto taken out by payroll and sent to family and child services for disbursement.

a cop sees a warrant, as a warrant, it's a 'pick-up'.. whether for child support or murder, it's all the same..that fucker ran because he wasn't paying for his kids, but yet could be buying a mercedes?

yeah, he had his priorities right..he was a wanted man running away who ended up dead.

case dismissed!

I suppose you and your brother in law are what I would consider part of the problem.
Lets work backwards.

If he is an officer and is telling you " shit they do to peoole" .... Then you both obviously think it is funny to abuse the authority of position. But yet here you are screaming of injustice. If nothing else you should both be incarcerated for obstruction, aiding and abetting.

Were you even of an age to have dealt with the police 20+ years ago they weren't "normal nice police" . They were The Police. same as today. The difference is the respect they are given in the line of duty. Remember we pay them to do a job like everybody else. Putting themselves in harms way for your protection for the wage they make is not a fair wage. The craziness is not the cop crap its people crap. Ungrateful entitlement driven self absorption. WTF. Three arrests for dead beat dad. If a man is trying to take care of his dependents then there are avenues that keep you out of jail. DODGING gets you in jail.

Free travel in the US. Sure travel wherever you want. but remember if a cop comes at you and tells you to do something that doesn't cause you or another bodily harm then you are obligated by law to accommodate. Its part of being an American. Civic Duty I believe it is called.
