Seems like its less issues compared to dwc, I hate bubble buckets, I have 24 atm, not recirc smfh, so its a lot of work and an even longer story.

I was going to tie these little ladies together, now I'm thinking of converting them to aero!??

What are the benefits and downsides of aero, I know what it is, I want to hear some personal experiences though...

Tying 'm together will make life easier than some aero setups. Do you have a specific aero setup in mind? As in real high pressure aero or a tubes/nft - ish?

I have been growing hydro for about a decade I started for years with the drip ring system which worked well but was messy as hell. This past summer I invested in a new aero setup which utilizes both normal spray heads and a high pressure boost pump, and absolutely love it. Absolutely no mess everything is contained inside the bucket , I don't have to worry about air hoses clogging or the drip ring clogging. As far as the plants are concerned I definitely notice bigger root masses with this setup and bigger yields. My buddy tells me the buds are better in taste and look too now but I don't know. But I am really happy that I went with the aero setup from closer, veg, and flower they are really easy to use once it's dialed in , it is pretty much just change the water every week.

Not much to be gained over conventional hydro methods by using low pressure aero. Pretty much the same routine ph,ec checking/adjusting, top-ups and res changes. High pressure aero is thrifty on water so you gain the option of running drain to waste which optimises the nute delivery and involves less work.

The Good...
Aero is pretty easy if you know what you're doing. I've been running my aero systems for almost 10 years now and I still love'm. Once you find a recipe that works it's almost effortless. I spend about 10 minutes, every 3 days adding water. I add nutes once between res change. It takes about 45 minutes to change all my reservoirs and I only have to do that every couple of weeks. Even 3 week changes work fine. Growth rates are just plain silly! If you have enough light you can almost watch the plants grow! The thing is you can't stick your plants in a bad ass Aero system and then add a couple of tiny CFLs and expect to become the next Weed Baron. Light is Right! Of course lights are hot as fuck and leads to...

The Bad...
It's easy to get root rot! If the temps climb above 78 degrees and the water gets above 68 you could be in trouble. The colder the water, the better. Many growers use water chillers to keep the water nice and cold. I've said this a million times, if you can't keep your grow room cool then grow in soil. You can run you room in the 80s with good old-fashioned dirt.

I did the buckets to with good success but what a pain in the ass so much time wasted changing 12 buckets weekly and nutes but my yields were on point then I switched to aero and it's the only way I would ever grow hydro I don't use any medium in aero and I don't use a recycle timer I feed the shit out of them round the clock and it shows in lots of resin production bud size and I like to keep them short and fat nit tall and hard to handle only the catch to hydro is they have no medium to protection against over nute or water temp they are exposed completely but after the u found that happy medium with ur setup after that it is just clockwork and a waiting a game also good genetics make for good grows I try new stuff here and there most of mine I've grown for years and know what I can do to them and what I can't one week of growth on my aero after cloner

What kind of pump are you using. EZ-Clone spray heads? I wonder why your buds are tasting better? (it doesn't surprise me) Did you change nutes? Maybe the flush?

My cloner is 30 site in a 5 gallon bucket with 3 sprayer heads with a pro pump 500. Then my veg setup utilizes separate 5 gallons with a pro pump 1000. Then my flower system is 4- 13 gallon buckets which utilize a pro pump 1200 and a high pressure booster pump. Inside the buckets have 2- super fine mist sprayers , and 2 coarse sprayer heads that spray in 180 degrees. i have ran the same nutes (house and garden) since I started way back when, the only difference is I no use an RO system. I think the change in taste has to do with the RO and also the fine mist way of feeding because every time I look in the buckets all the roots have nice droplets on them not a constant stream of water. I can't notice the taste like my buddy but I can say I have never had such lime green buds with insane amount or terpines. Every bud looks like it is ready for its high times photo shoot

It hurts my lazy bone just thinking about the effort required for 24 buckets-----not tied together @ Sativied said.

StinkBud warned you about nute temperature------but you're already running water culture in buckets.

Aero isn't your only option to ditch those buckets----all you gotta do is keep your nutes cool and moving.

I've used several nute delivery methods-----my conclusion-----not much difference, if any at all relative to plant health/yield.

do fish need DO to live? Do fish live in a river? Do fish die in stagnant water?

Benefits:

Once done "properly"------reduction of effort/time required.

Downsides:

Cost / effort required for initial setup.

Extended loss of power.

Pump failure.

Clogged sprayers.

Dear hod dont convert to aero. You will hate it lol. I suggest you try making them into an ebb n flow system. Bulk head fittings like titan systems. With a cap controller.
