DWC Rescue mission! Any & All help.

Well it's been a while but here I am with a new grow and unfortunately new problems... Ok so here's the scenario. My environment is a 2x4x50 grow tent with a 600w HPS running a USHIO bulb in a vented hood. Ventilation is 6" 440CFM exhaust and passive intake. Im running 2 buckets one 5 gal DWC and one GH Waterfarm with added air stone. Nutrients are AN Sensi grow and additives are b52 for veg. Ph is adjusted to 5.8 daily and ppm is 300. The strain is G13 Pineapple Express and my clones are 1 week old but we're transplanted into DWC 36hrs ago my issues are that since transplant I'm seeing patches of yellow on leaves and overall appearance is just poor. As far as I know I'm doing everything correctly and had zero issues in past grows with the water farm this is however my first bubble bucket so I could be missing something who knows. The question is easy how do I get these girls to bounce back? I have pics of day one after transplant and can update more current after work but maybe the can give the professionals an idea of the problem. Please help its important I recover from this as I have a cancer patient this crop will be providing for and she's awaiting good news so thank you all in advance.

I'm guessing the roots are not touching the water yet? Basically they could use some nutes I'm guessing. Before my roots hit the water, I would just take some water from the rez and pour it over the top a couple times a day till they hit the water, then they were good to go.

Thanks for letting me know someone was out there lol and no they have not reached the res yet but the roots on these girls were like 6in long when I transplanted and I ran em down to the almost bottom of my 9" net pot. Same with the waterfarm I'm gonna post pics in a few when I get a minute from takin care of the kids gotta love it lol

Alrighty so I have in fact been top feeding but I believe my 300 ppm was just not enough seeing that these clones have like 5 sets of leaves and such so I mixed up a gallon of 600ppm nutes to top off both buckets also I'm suspicious of light stress the guy I got them from had then under t5 lights and then I placed them directly under the 600w I've read this can negatively effect your plants if they aren't eased into this intensity do you believe this could be a factor? I've raised my light to about 2 feet above and planned on keeping it there until they recover is this a good idea or would this be counterproductive? The good news is that after the ppm increase last night they looked to be on somewhat of a better leg this morning or maybe I'm just over hopeful lol pics coming tonight the baby was a handful last night so an opportunity never arose but they are coming as promised thank you

2 ft for a 600w on clones seems a little close imo. It's all about the roots right now. Are you using a root accelerator like GH rapid start? A little bit goes a long way..

Ok cool I suspected that distance was playing a role here I will make further adjustments tonight also no I'm not currently I was hoping the b52 would help with that I used Humbolt roots in a previous grow and had great results but it looked and smelled exactly like the b52 so I had guessed the had similar make up and properties none the less I can swing by the hydro store tomorrow and grab a root booster I concur this would help or at the least definitely can't hurt lol I feel like I've been taking my problem free grows for granted seeing how stressful this whole "wtf is going on" situation is Haha

Finally the pictures! so the ones with the hps on are the day i got them. and no hps are today. it looks to me like they are not doing much better in fact might be headed down hill what is the diagnosis ? any new thoughts based on what we see here? Im all ears lol

It looks like it was re vegged to me. Some strains don't respond well to reveg and lose vigor. That might be some of your problems but it looks to me like they are thirsty for nutes.

Yeah I'm top feeding 600ppm because the roots haven't hit the res another bit I forgot to mention is the clones came from soil and I had to rinse the dirt out. And yes the guy I got them from is not the smartest and insisted on flipping the mother to make sure it was fem even tho he bought feminized seeds because he doesn't trust them (then why spend the extra on fem seeds right lol) looks like he screwed me. So when do you cut your losses and start over? Would it be better to get new clones or stay the course with these I'm just starting to feel as if I've waste a week. Also is 600 not enough or is it just the fact the roots have not made it to the res in either bucket?

I hate top feed , if not done right you can have real problems ,those plants don't have much of a chance all the stress will probly Hermie them I would take some new cuts right now and start
Over maybe try flood and drain or just dwc Buckets . G/l bro

From the looks of them, if your ppm's are not too high and you are not burning them, I would guess your ph is off. Should be 5.5-5.8. Looks acidic maybe? If your ppm's are not too high and your ph is perfect, you should not see any real deficiencies. Are you running ro water with cal mag, or using regular water and de-chlorinating it?

How old r the clones ther original leave will sometimes die off

Sooooooooo my suggestion:

Ditch those plants and start with fresh genetics FROM SEED.

What's the problem with the roots not reaching the nutes?

Ok so mission aborted I'm starting over getting 2 new clones both Dr. Who and we're never in soil or flipped to sex them so this should work out better also bought some great white for the roots so I can make sure they hit the res what should I do this time for transplanting and caring for them the first week or so?? Don't want a repeat of this attempt

These 2 "new" ones you're getting-----are they just cuttings or have roots already----if so----using what medium (method)?

I've never run a top feed system------but just one glance at those pics-----I would hate all that hydroton (rocks).

For only 3-4 plants I suggest DWC with airstones (yukk, clogged air stones and nute changes )-------or, circulation with pump/s.

As soon as I read this I knew what happened. I've done the same thing! What happens is when you rinse the soil out you also damage the roots. If you were to take a microscope and look at the roots closely you'd see little tiny hairs. A healthy root system has billions of these little hairs. It almost looks like fur to the naked eye. Soil has a shit load of little sharp rocks, bark and other nasty shit that shears off these hairs when you move it around. When you clean the roots you are basically removing most of the soil along with the smallest root hairs. The plant is in shock right now. It's bummed out. Putting more salt (nutes) on the wounds is not necessarily going to help either. I think you just need to let your plant to recover from the shock.

Which bring me to the topic of transplant shock. It's just a fact of life that happens to all of us including plants. When I grew in soil I noticed that it would take about a week for my plants to recover from transplant shock. In fact that's why I would go right from an 8" pot to a 10gal. pot. I only had to shock the plant once. To avoid transplant shock in my Aero system I came up with veg system that allowed me to move the plants without damaging the roots.

One more thing... watch out for root rot. Who knows what kind of funky stuff was growing in the soil. If you run a sterile res it shouldn't be a problem.
