Is 18 oz a good return for 2 x 600w in soil?

Basically as the title says, ive got this as final dry weight but am disappointed as i was expecting a bare minimum of 25 oz. I got 15 under one 600w in an adjusta wing reflector the time before so assumed i should be able to double this in theory? How come ive ended up with only 3zs more?

Everything was the same as before except the temps were higher slightly. 2 x 600w hps in a 2x1.2x2m tent. House and garden full range, plagron bat mix soil, 11 litre pots. Plants were vegged from seed for 3 weeks till they were 12 inches tall and fimmed one.
This time i used 2 supernova air cooled hoods rather than the one adjusta wing, simply due to the heat. My lights on temps average 33 degrees celsius and lights off temps are 20 degrees. I have to grow on the top floor of a 3 story house so naturally all the heat collects up there and ive tried everything to get rid of it but this is the coolest i can get it. I would have thought i could have still got about 25 to 30 oz..where has this gone wrong?

Oh also this was with 10 plants. considering putting a few more in as i may not be utilising all the space....

You didn't mention an exhaust (should be roughly 700cfm or 1200m3h, or more...) and temps of 33 are too high. You should be able to get up to 40 oz from that setup given a good ventilation system, so yeah 25-30 is not too much too ask for.

H&G, plagron, 11litre pots, sounds familiar.

10 plants would be enough with some cropping but then the pots are too small.

With 11 litre pots 9 plants per light would work better. Can also reduce the veg time a little.

hey man, yeah thats what i was thinking potentially 40z max. My exhaust is an inline fan that i bought from a friend, its a 5inch fan i dont know the cfm rating tho, there is no info on the fan itself so ive no idea. The sides of the tent do suck in a little tho so i assume Its ok. I was thinking about getting a 6inch one tho, more powerful, cant hurt can it! The temp issue crazes me but until i move house there really is no way around it as im in a rented property and live on a built up housing estate so cant have vents coming out windows etc. Gota be proper careful For now....thinking about switching to LED to solve the heat issue but not too sure about em...

why grow so many plants? are they all different strains? i usually get 5-6 o's per plant with a 5 week veg and topped at 3 nodes.
lights: ushio super hps 600w
soil: 5 gallon FF happy frog cut with 1 part perlite
nutes: just water and cal-mag for veg.
FF big bloom, cal-mag,silica,fulvic acid,fish tank water for flower.
sometimes less is better especially if youre not in a legal state. a couple of plants could mean the difference between a slap on the wrist or a long ass sentence

try adding silica, i read somewhere that it allows the plant to tolerate higher temps. my temps get high from time to time but no problems in yield so far.
Also LEDs are legit, check the led section for guys like greengenes and psuagro they know more about leds than the companies making them lol

i pull about 2 p 6 ounces with 2 600watts off about 3 plants my out doors i can pull just over a p a plant maybe more

The OP is not interested in in how much you and I 'need'. The OP is also not interested in doing 1 grow. The OP is interested in yield. What he does with it is up to him.

I specifically said it can reduce the veg time a little. Obvious really, if you don't realize more plants equals less veg time you shouldn't be giving advice.

Additionally, the extra cycle by doing shorter veggingbut more plants was in regards to the 5 weeks, obviously.

I also did not say he would get 40oz.

I know you think 40oz is special, I know many here think 0.5 gram pw is normal, but the OP knows he can get up to 40oz from the grow setup (well with better ventilation anyway) as THOUSANDS of growers do with a with a very similar setup.

For some examples, see some of my recent posts in the led vs hps thread.

About a pound per 600watt is normal, requires little to no effort but a decent run, that's 16 oz. 18-20 oz is a great run.

I measured a little more than 8.5oz dry off 240W on one undocumented grow I considered a screw up. Scaled up, thats 17oz from 480W. I did not measure the grow you see pictures of in "the led vs hps thread", which performed far better than my "Screw up". If I did, you'd be in disbelief.

I would consider 18oz from 1200W a bad return, but 18oz of weed is nothing to sneeze at either.
