CLF and HPS together

I am using several CLF lamps with my 400 watt HPS to add spectrum and more light. My question is, has anyone else tried this, and with success?
I have 8 lamps around 4 plants with equivalant wattage of 100-200 watts each, plus my 4oo watt HPS. About 9 square feet I guess.
Anyone else done this?

If you need better light coverage cfl's are a perfect way to get it. They will compliment your HPS great, especially for bushier type plants. Check out this guy's grow journal, he used an HPS w/ CFL's...you can't argue with the results...

CFL's dont put out enough heat to make that much of a difference. They are great for adding bottom light where the HPS is not hitting as strong as the top of the plant. If you can keep the temp down from what the HPS is putting out, you should be fine.
