Damn... There are so many conflicting posts in this thread. Heres my take after reading this entire thread:
A majority if not all of the "turn the lights off for the last two days/weeks... " and "10/14" claims have all been second hand statements. There has been only one person "comercial" who actually posted after trying it himself.
For the guys on the other end, saying to stay at 12/12 "its the tried and true method"... Ever wonder how scientific advancements are made? Experimentation!
From what I personally have read, and grown first hand, the plant does its production during the light period, and little to none during the night. To me, it would seem logical that if your going to make any alteration to a light cycle, it would have to be increasing the light hours of the plant. As someone posted a video of earlier, some growers are using 14 hours of light, while still maintaining the 12 hour dark-period needed to continue to induce flowering.
Now that i said all that, my question is: Has anyone tried altering their light cycle in the way i just mentioned, increasing the light hours? I have heard you can run a cycle such as 12 off / 18 on / 12off... What do you guys think, theoretically it seems like it could help, more hours of light = more growth while still mainting that critical 12 hour dark-period.
