Is there a difference between the budswell and any other guano on this page that is half the price? Heard really good things about seabird guano. I understand that budswell is comprised of both seabird and bat guano as well as other things.

Am I going to be missing much based on anybody else's experience if I go with something else on this page?

whats the word on soil secrets? Ambrosia and nectar look amazing. Can't imagine finding anything cheaper. Any experiences to share?

Preflower week is next week, so I gotta order in the next couple of days to have a phospho fertilizer!!!

The most popular here seems to be FoxFarm Ocean Forest... I can't get that...
For 6+ years I've used a premium soil mixed with pro-mix (or perlite) at a rate of 50-50% for good drainage... All those other additives may work great.. but experience using them may come at a high price, and a lot of screwed up plants... ..if your budget is tight...use just what I'm using.... For 6 X 6FT+ I spent $28.00 on soil and mix........

I use budswell and it works great. And for soil I use miracle grow moisture control with added perlite, blood meal, and bone meal. Hope i helped

Drumsintown.. Glad to see you hitting the Organic Threads. The answer to your question. Budswell is just a flashy name. Any of the grow or bloom bat guanos on that page will help grow some great plants / buds.

The key to using Bat Guano, knowing your limits. It works best as a tea in my opinion. You can mix 2 to 4 (level not heaping) tablespoons of it to a gallon of unchlorinated water, give it a shake, let it sit over night, repeat for a couple of days or bubble it using a cheap aquarium air pump / air stone for a day.

Water in your tea, one quart per plant, every two weeks. By starting low & building slow - you will not shock your plants or mess up your pH. I put the left over crud from my teas in a compost pile, or you can divide up the curd between 4 or more plants.

Guano Teas...are great fertilizers / amendments.

OSG, that is a great response, and exactly what I was looking for.

Twisty... I went with ocean forest because it seems to incorporate everything I was taught to use in a soil mix.... But don't want to fuck with buying and mixing myself. I decided to go with something that is simple and premade. If I spend 40 dollars on soil (one and a half bags per 6-3 gal pots) per half to whole pound harvest, I am not hurtin' too bad. Saves me alot of gripe considering the only labor is the transplant and the mix in of additional perlite and dolomite lime
.

I think based on what I've seen in the plants response that I am going to continue to use the ocean forest.... I think this time around I am between the dry bar bat guano and the super swell... Sure it doesn't really make a shit's difference (someone kick me in the nuts for that one) which one I use so long as I administer a good healthy amount of phosphorous as well as micronutes to the plant.

Definitely gonna try out the soil secrets, as it is the cheapest innoculant (with humic acid to boot) I have seen yet that appears to be followed by great results.

Drumsintown That Ocean Forest has a great ingredients list. I'm sure your girls will love it & reward you with some fat, frosty buds.

It's so well made, it would be hard to duplicate any cheaper - really. Especially with what gas costs - all that running around to get ingredients could bankrupt a guy.

Adding the extra pertilite is a good move. I've read a few threads where guys add pertilite & a little extra peat moss to stretch it out a bit.

When I looked at that HTG Supply link, I didn't check out what their shipping cost was. I've bought bat guano on Ebay for $ 5 for 1/2 pound of High N (Grow) & 1/2 of High P (Bloom) plus $ 5 shipping. It was really good stuff, you might want to give it a look. It's from Blue Mountain Organics, they are the ones who make Super Plant Tonic. If the HTG Supply has better shipping rates though, their stuff looks good too.
I always shop around too, I live on a budget. I've got teenagers - Man want to talk about an expensive grow - teenagers cost $$$$$$

While you're online let me ask you this.... When you say to use the crud in your compost, do you actually mean to strain it out with a stocking before using the tea, or just let it settle.... I noticed your post in the organic tea for flowering thread saying that you aren't for it....

I think I am about to mix up a little bit of worm castings, kelp meal, and bat guano (dr earth on the kelp and bat guano) for tea to bubble tonight to give a good solid nitrogen boost to the plants....

Drumsintown Your tea sounds good. I let my ingredients free float, so they mix better with the water. I just let mine settle for about an hour, then water it in. When I get to the bottom, I put the crud & last 1/2 of water in my compost barrel - most of the time.

You can divde the crud up between four or more plants and that's fine too. It's just a personal preference, cause I always have some compost going. Which I use later for compost tea. I reuse everything I can.

Hey brother----loosing up that FFOF with 1/2 ratio of big chunk perlite-----soil tip: take that same ratio of mix and add your bat turds ---2 tbs per gallon of soil----(take that mix and fill our pot/container/growbag/table---1/4 full-----then fill with just the FFOF mix-----when your plants hit 4-5 weeks of flowering the roots will be reaching the bottom of your soil were the extra bat shit is throw a growth part----they love the stuff and go ape shit-----don't worry about the curd-----just make sure to mix in you enzymes/beneficials/and fungi with sugar and all your nutes in the tea--put an air-stone in the mix and let it brew for 24 hours---when ready to feed just add pure water till you hit your target ppm's then ph to 6.3 and feed those girls.-----------------note--------------------------by using the enzymes/beneficials/and fungi with sugar in your tea--you will be breaking down the nutes for ultra-fast assimilation by the plants-------Your turbo-charging the speed of the plant growth in soil.

also.... I am assuming that based on what I used to feed my hydro nutes at... the size of my plants (look at the link on my signature and the last pic on the bottom of the thread) would you say that would be somewhere between 400 and 600 ppm?

Also... while I am buggin you master gardeners... Would you say that it is gonna wet the soil adequately using the drip lines (can be seen in the same picture or even better in the attached one..) I have on the plants? evenly spacing them on four points in case you can't see that from the pic. Hoping to have it so that I don't have to reach in under the screen.

600 is good---in the next couple of weeks you can bump it by 50 each week until you hit 900-950(of coarse if you see burn you will need to back up alittle)-----make sure to let those pot dry out(top soil should be close to dry a inch down).If you are using RO water make sure to add cal/mag plus micro's every watering---5ml/gallon.

If it was me I would hand water but if you do keep the hoses stir the top of the soil once in a while and add 1-2 drops of dish soap per gallon of water in your res.

Ok.... For this next question, I need advice on the scrog. It is a roughly 4' table from longest end across... As you can see there are two different strains in there. one of them is SILLY dense and the other is a bit leggy... hybridish..... The c4 (leggy one) has way outgrown the Sour kush and is at net level now. There are three and three. i am wondering if I shouldn't pull out the Sour Kush and let it veg while I go ahead and fill my screen with just the three c4 plants. For those three plants, does anybody know if a 3 gal container will suffice? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

What is the mixing ration for Budswell? I looked at a one gallon jug at my local store and they wanted $32.85 but it didn't say what the mixing dir where other than a little goes a long way...I take it by it's name it's intended for flowering right?

2-3 tbs per gallon for tea..... from the dry I would say that goes a damn long way. But I would say the same for any 0-7-0. I may try it out when I am feelin' less frugal. I hear the liquid goes not quite so far.....

Fed my tea of Kelp meal, Worm castings, and bat guano 1tbs each two days ago and they JUMPED in the past two days.... grew about 2 inches to reach the screen height. just tied off my net and am ready to flower in about a week and a half.

Can't wait to try the soil secrets too....!!!

I am new to growing with the Budswell bat guano, Ive heard, and seen amazing pictures of buds that are only 35 days in gleaming with trics. Any one got any good advice for a newbie to teas?
