Hello there fellow stoners, on face book last night and saw an old friend from over 20 years ago was on so we got to talking about things and he says he missed me at the funeral of a girl we used to work/hang with and I was speechless. She died almost a year ago from cancer right at the same time that I was going thru my treatments. We may have been in the hospital at the same time. Weird.
Any way got me thinking how we lose touch over the years, people come and go. But I guess their is no way to find if people that were a part of your life everyday for years are now OK or not. Today's smart phones are good in that respect I guess. But this is not the 1st time a friend from a long time ago has checked out and we never knew a thing about it.

Honestly - having Facebook over the last 15 years has been the best thing I could have done for keeping in touch with people.

I saw a girl this fall who I was best friends with in 1995, but lost touch with around 2000.

We hung out, and it was like no time had passed.

I "came out" on Facebook almost a year ago for having a mental illness and having a rough go of it over the last 20 years. People were so great about it. Friends I had not talked to in a decade showed support and shared their stories.

People can say all the negative shit they want about Facebook, and some of it's true.

But I wouldn't get rid of my account for all the gold in the world. I love those people. And I'm keeping them.

I use facebook occasionaly mostly, to check what ravesare happening and a few old friends that now live distances away. My other oldfriends are that for a reason.

saw one friend two years ago and it didn't end well. I still see them around once in a while or through people I still know and for the life of me I would like to avoid them at all costs.

I have a FB page, but I log on maybe once a month. I dislike social media, I avoid people 80+% of the time so I'm mostly anti-social by nature. As soon as I joined FB, every alumni group swarmed on me. I haven't been in touch with these people for decades, and have almost no interest in being in touch with them now. A couple of peers have done VERY well and it's was interesting to read about their success, but that thrill was over in an hour. This forum is the only social media I participate in, and I originally joined for educational purposes but you guys were so cool, it's great to socialize here (except for a few douche bags). If you really like a lot of people, and want to exert as little effort as possible to keep tenuous relationships alive, social media is the way to go...

I've associated with the same two dudes since the 2nd grade we're 57 and I wouldn't want it any different. We all three have been there for each other thru divorce, sickness, deaths, births ,weddings anything that life has thrown at us . We try to get together about once a week. We all three grow and bounce ideas off each other and help with problems related to growing but there are times when that subject never comes up and we just shoot the shit for a few hours. For myself every time we get together I always feel better when I leave than I did when I arrived.There's nothing wrong with leading an isolated life if that's the way you want it but there's nothing better than true trustworthy old friends. As we get older I know there will come a time when we'll be at the funeral home looking at the body of one of us laughing about old times. I love those guys I just hope I'm the last to go !

Oh, I don't READ much of what other people write on Facebook.

But I have some pretty hilarious friends, that link to "19 pictures of Jesus doing everyday things" and other such nonsense. hahaha

My besties are scattered all over Canada. We keep in touch through Facebook, FaceTime, and Skype.

It's nice, I get to see their kids grow up, even if I can't be there all the time.

I don;t know why I am defending Facebook SO HARD. It's ok that ya'll don't like it! hahahah

I'm legally smoking weed in Canada and I still don't even write the word weed or anything like it when talking to my friends. Gotta be careful.

It was an old friend some kid I went to school with now a junkie like most he sent me a request so I'm like whatever be the 20th fake ass friend I don't talk to. lol, Funny thing is most of the friends I talk to don't even do Facebook and all my old friends are junkies now all of them it's kinda funny none of them do shit half the time their crying about being sick. Actually even that one idiot was saying his pregnant girl was dope sick on my Facebook wall just missed the clinic getting over 100mgs a day. I didn't even respond I don't even like the kid we where never close friends my brother beat the shit out of him in school kid acted tough to me at a party got his ass beat again little did he know I beat my big brothers ass. lol

And get this the kid went around saying I sold heart medication as Oxy 30's lol, I never sold shit for Oxy's damn sure no 30's it's just like really I don't even talk to the kid like what's he doing going around ripping people off and blaming me? That's like the oldest junkie scam in the book another junkie tried doing the same shit with counterfeit money just like did I give you the money or did that junkie fuck give it to you? :bigjoint:Shit didn't even feel like money anyone who fell for that shit deserved it. One junkie got his car strong armed cause of that shit runs to the cops gets himself arrested for passing fake bills it was funny like really think a stolen car trumps counterfeit money the cop told him he can hold the car till he got his real money. lmao, I love junkies without them cops would fuck with people like me.:bigjoint:So many junkies only 2 cops you can run a meth factory just don't shit where you eat you'll never have a problem.bongsmilie

Sure, there are some people here growing legally. But a lot are growing secretly.

Yeah nobody knows I grow I don't shit where I eat but yeah I was slanging drugs since 15 years old never been busted and almost 30 had to move around a bit but I know what I'm doing I know all about confidential informants and all I'm a veteran. I just like growing weed better now too much bullshit hustling hard drugs junkies always trying to scam you or turn informant.
