Getting water from a pond maybe 100 yards away

And to the OP, there's a couple good sized water pump threads on icmag. One is gas powered water pumps and I don't remember what the other one was, I'd guess eletric.

Is the pond higher or lower than your grow? Depending on if you are fighting gravity , or working with it will make a difference on the pump..once you start having to pump uphill things get a little more difficult. If you're downhill..you could get it going with just about any type of pump and then let gravity do the work..put a valve on the end so you can turn in on and off..you shouldn't have to prime it again all season as long as the end at the pond stays submerged..
Pretty much completely level

Go to lowe's and buy a water pump that's 12v they work great they attach to a water hose. Hook to a battery and let it pump if you can dig a hole in ground to lower barrel into it will also help with Temps as the ground is coolwe then just sitting there

All I'm saying is you guys are clearly from the new generation of youth who want instant gratification and think if you have to work for it then it's just not worth it. You want it right now and don't think you should have to work or pay your dues. And that's the problem with the new generation.

Those 10x10 restrictions aren't because of guerrilla growers, especially ones who are in in non-legal states like the OP I presume. Remember, guerilla growers don't follow restrictions nor do legislators expect them to. Those restrictions are because of legal growers taking up an acre plus and growing all 5-12lb+ plants or doing huge light-dep hoop houses and growers going way over there numbers which draws a lot of traffic that non-growing neighbors don't appreciate.

And I it wasn't for guerilla growers growing weed illegally in decades past and distributing it to people so they could smoke it illegally so that the general public could see the government's propaganda was total crap, this country wouldn't be anywhere close to where we are with legal MMJ and legalization in general.

If you don't like your county's restrictions you have options, e.g., petitions, voting out representatives, moving to a different county, etc., but blaming guerilla growers, especially ones who are most likely in non-legal states, is silly. You should complain to all your representatives instead of some small time dude on the internet. How many of your representatives have you called with your complaints and how many petitions have you printed out?
locally (santa cruz county) in bonny doon there were some crazy grows and the locals got all butthurt, and now they are saying because of the water shortages, timber being cut and so on.
Which I find ironic since we have tons of vineyards here, and those are "ok" sucking millions of gallons of water... and space....causing erosion problems because of the clear cutting..

Yea it's because they are contributing to the cost of running this country.... It's called taxes... You think they should shut down Driscoll farms too?

I do work 48 hours a week.. you should go find someone's thread that doesn't work and grows on their neighbors property and say all this stuff there if you want to talk about it this bad

Yes a lot of the new generation is like that but that has nothing to do with growing. growing is working. just like the other poster said, the previous generation had plenty of "illegal growers". I'm 35 and have worked hard for what I have, I have had more major medical setbacks than almost anyone I know but I continue to work through it. Just because someone is growing on gov. land doesn't mean they don't want to work. That kind of growing is much harder than what I do on the property I own, with much more risk and usually less reward. I can easily grow 4+ pound plants in my yard, not so easy in the woods. The OP did say he has a job. Not everyone in the country can buy land and get good jobs. There are people who do their best every day and still don't make enough to buy land after 50 years of work. IMO they are working hard to get theirs. You say it's not legal but neither is your medical grow, or the commercial growing that your county banned. As far as I remember state law is 6/12 and counties could approve more.

Medical marijuana: Medical patients and their designated primary caregivers may legally possess and cultivate (but not distribute or sell) marijuana under Health and Safety Code 11362.5 (Prop 215) if they have a physician's recommendation or approval. State law SB420, now codified as California Health & Safety code sections 11362.7-11362.83, set a state threshold of 6 mature OR 12 immature plants per patient, allowing locals to pass higher allowances (many cities and counties have local ordinances with zoning regulations).Read more on medical marijuana laws.

Unfortunately for me and everyone in my county, commercial growing was just completely banned because they say there is too many people doing egregious grows... So I actually am directly effected by people like this... Now I can only do 10x10 :(
Your worries about commercial growing were never legal.

Federal Law: Marijuana is also illegal under the federal Controlled Substances Act. Federal charges are typically brought only in large cases where commercial distribution is suspected

I know it's not easy to move but I did. I sold my house and moved here only because my last county banned growing. about a month ago this county voted 5 to 1 to leave it at state law, no added limitations.

If everyone played by the rules, there would be no bans. But thanks anyway outdoorgrowin.
If everybody played by the rules you would never have gotten to experience, much less grow cannabis in the first place. You think legislators would have legalized cannabis without guerilla growers making it commonplace? You actually sound like the new generation grower. MMJ has only been legal for less than two decades, who was growing it before that? People who didn't play by the rules and grew in spite of the government's rules for one reason or another, e.g., love of the plant, enjoyment of smoking homegrown, money, etc. Old-school growers (as opposed to new generation growers) don't wait for the government to tell them it's okay to do so; they grow so much the government can't fight it anymore. You should try living in a non-legal state and see if your feelings change. Growing on state land is a lot safer than growing in your backyard for people in non-legal states.
