Having this exact problem myself thought it was ph problem but after checking ph 6.4 water and my runoff 6.4 .

I noticed this after realizing my soil is below 60 degrees F. Running 400w hps and supplemented a vero 18 led .
So I beleave or want to is that I'm my case the soil temp is locking things out, not sure pita though.

I've never had any deficiencies in my grow until I started using led
Hi Odddjob...Are you saying that you believe plants growing under LED's are more prone to calcium deficiency? Has anybody else noticed the same thing?

240sxing...I think my soil temp was pretty stable at about 69 F.

They look close to finishing... if you started flushing and stopped most of the nutes then this isbpretty much what you get. The plant is eating itsslf looking for nutes. Maybe started flushing too early?

Its true for some LED, yes
Any theories on why? Or information on which LED's are most prone to be associated with calcium deficiencies?

On a side not, has anyone noted any difference (more or less) in potency with plants grown under LED's?

Its a certain red nanometer in flower that some LED's use that cause the plant to uptake calcium like a vacuum hoover

Hi All,

I grew 4 plants (2x Dutch Passion Durban Poisen) and (2x Sannies Hammer Head). I grew in soil (mix of Ocean Forest and Happy Frog). It was basement grow under LED (platinum series lights) and fertilized with Bio Bizz nutes. I also added a bit of CalMag+ now and again. I watered with distilled water. Temps ranged from about 65 - 74 F.

Everything seemed to go well up until about a month before harvest. Then I noticed small brown spots that became more prevalent as the grow progressed and affected both strains. Can some of you more experienced growers please have a look and tell me what you think went wrong? I want to try and avoid this with future grows.

Thanks!

you watered with distilled water and biobizz and you are in buffered soil so it is unlikely you will get pH lockout, a month before they finish is when their metabolism is very high and they require lots of nutes, you have generalised deficiencies esp K, the strain puts on weight and biobizz in reg soil wont keep up, ive fed some plants double strength biobizz at that stage in supersoil...crazy how much they need tbh, so for once this is a good grow with the plant raping the soil for nutes and leaving it def, the bud should be ok tho imo

Thanks for the comments all. I guess with my next grow I'll try adding more nutes and perhaps some crushed egg shells to the soil mix. The bud did turn out ok, although I think I could have had a larger harvest. And, I'm not that excited about the potency. My last grow was Strawberry Cough under 400w HPS (Bio Bizz Soil and BioBizz Nutes). And that stuff was kick ass, one hit and I was away : ) But oh, by the way, some of this grow turned hermie and I ended up with a few seeds developing. Perhaps that's the reason it's not as strong.
