I need help choosing a mini split a/c unit

Like my title said, I have been wanting a mini split for a couple of years and it is now time to get one. My room is 6'x24' and I will be running between 3-6 1000's. I have 3 now(air cooled) and I want to be able to expand. My budget is around $1,500 but I might spend more on a unit if it has a high "SEER#".
I will be able to run the 220v wire myself. I know a little about automotive a/c but I dont have a vacuum pump or gauges. I should be able to do a DIY kit if I dont need them.

I do not need a heat pump!

Main thing make sure it has auto restart so if you loose power I will automatically cut back on. A day night feature is nice so you can set Temps to what you want for day and night. I would look into a dual zone at least so you can have a unit at each end of room. 1500 8th not enough for what you need you will he looking at 3rd for what you need

Yes slims are good I have also heard Fujitsu is good shit as well but let others chimes in. I no you need roughly 3-4k btu of ac per 1000 watt.
Ebay reviews had Fujitsu rated highly. I made a mistake, I thought the dual zone was 24x24btu not 12x12! My bad

You need a 2 ton unit. Most manufactures will tell you that all brand mini splits usually take a shit after 3-5 years . They are great . I got my aura systems for about a grand per. I sugguest having an hvac guy come vaccum the lines I hear the diy setups don't work as well

I beg the differ my mini split had been working for 8 years now and no problems other then the quick connects started leaking so I just cut them out brazed and vacuumed and recharged. And it's a bullshit ideal air mini spli5

I don't like the company. They had bs advertising online and in magazines and I called them out saying there 3 ton can do 8 lights non air cooled. It is owned by a shithead youngster. So if you can deal with the bad customer service the 2 ton acs are badass. The 3 tons aren't much better than the 2 tons from what I can tell. Zero problems with the 2 tons. The 3 ton the motherboard went out first week. For some reason there remote only displays in celcius I think its cool but I guess that would piss some people off. I would buy from them again

I have been thinking about it for a couple of days and I dont think that I can afford the mitsubishi. I saw that you were talking about Senveille aura or whatever. I have also seen Pioneer with Toshiba compressors. I dont think that I can go too far off of budget.

Most units can not operate below -10f. If you need to be able to operate below that temp, you need a unit with a low ambient temp option.

My local hydro store is ripping people off and they sell ONLY from Hydrofarm and Sunlight supply magazines at the price stated in the book! It is a rip-off!

I finally figured out that Aura was it's own brand and it is in the Hydrofarm magazine.

Ideal air is from sunlight supply. I had a problem with their portable 12000btu unit. It was a internal drain line that was not lined up and it would leak 5gal a day! My local store gave me a fucking hard time about it, I showed them exactly what was wrong and I had to return it 3x before it was fixed. Customer service at Ideal air was a shit head teenager. I really dont want to buy from them again. Their 15 seer 24000btu cost as much as a Mitsubishi!

I rebuild engines/transmissions and I have been trained(ASE) on automotive HVAC. As far as I am concerned, the Mitsubishi is DIY if I want to void the warranty, but I will not...
I have came up with a solution. I will buy the Mitsubishi in two separate orders. The outside unit is $1,250 and I could buy that now and get the indoor air handler for $750 next month! I feel pretty good about it. I am not going to spend the same amount on other brands. My local hydro store can suck it. I have avoided them for the last 2 years. They got shitty with me over the portable a/c unit after I spent several thousand in their store. They act like they have the ONLY source of growing equipment!

I will probably set it up and have a HVAC guy come inspect it before I turn it on for my warranty. 5/7 year warranty looks good. Look at Ideal Air's warranty lol!!!

I talked with a lot of companies about mini splits a few years ago. The one that were not geared towards indoor gardening, using them in a grow op would void the warranty. The companies explained how much extra the unit works in a grow op than a normal home. Just keep that in mind if something ever happens to it.

That is fucked your hydro store is trying to sell that for book price . They arent ever going to sell shit. If you can get a Mitsubishi for that price then go for it. My opinion is, that's too much money considering what your using it for. but do what makes you happy. If you live in a medical state where there is a lot of hydro stores you should be able to get a minisplit for no more than 200 over cost. Around a grand is a fair price, if you look hard enough you'll find the deals

I run the fire og. I'm not sure sweet or sour. with the fire, sfv, and sometimes the tahoe i just look for the super skunk dank smell. I guess like a bunch of skunks that just ran through a chem mix of fuel. If i had to choose id say sour though. Sorry for thread jacking op. Off subject a little, but in good nature.
