what are your power bills running guys .............the town house option is going forward (buddy is paying 1200 on rent for a shit hole place in the city and wants to out when i offered the idea) ....and before anyone says anything buddy with him since i was 5 and the girl next door moved out and he moved in 31 years i know the guy (i feed him LSD and his family flipped him out ended up in the hospital and did not say my name i trust him)

i will have a 15x20 room to work with ....chime to vent hot air and a window under a deck for a ac (80% of the room is underground on all 4 walls ) so ir blocking that last 20% and ceiling the cost is nothing ...built in fire suppression system plus built in heat pump/ac system

but i need to know what to except and hold back ..........i am going to look into those double ends if they are what i am thinking the cost of setting the room is going to be near 4k

i want to have at least 6 months worth of bill money on me ..........power i am taken 2/3 of the cost.... water i am taken 1/3......cable i am 1/2 rest of it is his / minus any fees to keep the place under the radar
the current power system i am on is one of those step bills so about 350 a month total for my part here is 1/3 since it is a split lvl house with central air and base board heaters (i am only on 3 breakers 15 amp pulling about 3000w a hour counting the ac on)

Depends on what you are paying per kilowatt hour. At my residential 8k it cost around 1800 a month, thats 8x1000w de hps, ac, 2 70 pint dehums, 9 fans, co2 burner and controller, blue lab guardian. Mine is .34 per kilowatt hour. At my commercial site, its 1/3 of the cost at .11 per kilowatt hour. My 8k is in a 12x20 room so approximately the same size as your room. It cost me around 15k just in equipment for what I just listed above and trays, pots, soil, food, etc. That 15k was ligit for everything needed for first run + initial equipment. I get 30% off hydrofarm/sunlight book value at my hydro store.

yep.. its really all going to depend.. gotta think of cool costs too every light adds 20-30degrees plus larger setups more money.. i know people that have 1800-2800$ bills monthly clearly they are clearing their costs.. but even small two bulb setups with cooling.. venting.. fans . and say a 16 bulb t5 veg... with the same.. fans cooling etc.. your looking at 400$ monthly and thats small honestly the best thing is not to get a separate place your not thinking of what your going to need equipment wise and load wise to not go in debt...then u have one fuck up loose a veg and your screwed for one or two months of payments...plus put behind on everything... best to build and work your way up to that even if you get to where you wanna rent separate places to grow. theres no issue with turnig a lb a month in a small setup when you stagger shit right to keep it moving in and out.

i am sorry my KWH is 9.5 cents avg for where i live i might be the 11 cent think the highest is 14 cents .......Maryland (middle of bum fuck nowhere)
i know it one of the reason my price pointing can be so low .........if i was in a biz it 4.7 if i industrial even lower 2.37 cents a hour (to boot i am foothills so wind turbines are always a option for me)

the room set up (floating wall IR blocking and running a 2nd board with breakers just for that room ) 1200 bucks with money spent on beer for workers .......and before anything is done i getting the owners OK to(i am not the renter i am a sub renter with the OK of the owner verbal not written) ............ revert it back to original will be less then 200 bucks (money to cart the stuff away) i do not plan to be there more then a year maybe 2 by then i should have a nicer nest egg and i will head CO or some place (plan to use the fact DC is legal and sign up for schooling and get that/certs done so i can go work in a major shop then open my own back up here in maryland when the rules are set and defined)

the equipment i have about 6k worth here i would use LEDs for veggie and finishing (has a UV mode built in) ....4 de 1000w hids that is 2400/2200
as for the soil once i am no longer using here to do the work i can mix up the soil i need (side yard huge flat thing will make a great greenhouse) i just never have as it would drawl attention to me .....it only worth doing if u make up a whole season or 2 of grows so 200 gallons reducing the cost more on pre made soil and feeds

doing hydro would be less but i do not trust it with out a back up gen to run all the gear .............doing this should work out for my buddy myself and several other ppl

You are going to need a serious ac to run those in a small room. Or if its relatively cool outside most of the year where you are, a good amount of outside air exchange. They make air cooled de hoods now too. The best ones on the market are the ac/de. They are they only ones that have a separate chamber above the bulb that the air flows through to air cool the hood. With de bulbs your not suppose to directly air cool the like standard hps bulbs.

De runs hotter than traditional hps

Imo 4 gavitas would require a 24000 btu AC minimum to keep them cool

Also I wouldn't order those from amazon, that price is a little high. My hydro store sells those setups for $420

I have to admit I didn't bother reading the whole thread, didn't need to, as always continuing upgrading we always want bigger better, so by now you already know what you want but trying to talk yourself down a notch to keep yourself in check but then you do it anyways and love it, so if you have the means go big homie
