I was under the impression that you couldnt over water hempys. How much should I be watering. To me it looks like lockout but I don't know.

you can over water a hempy, but it's not over watering in soil.

an over-watered hempy will just droop a bit, and will recover rather quickly once allowed to dry , with little to no damage

Thats what I thought. So what I am looking at is not overwatering damage it is something else...

Never had this problem with my hempys but my plan of action would be to flush with plain water (I use distilled throughout whole grow) and get PH in order. Also as some said could be Cal/Mag issues.

Supposedly Cal/Mag issues shouldn't happen with GH Flora series but it certainly can. I use lucas formula throighout entire cycle and my Great White Shark shows Mag def while my White Widows are green and healthy as ever.

Also I'm not sure if you are adjusting PH of the flora nutes but they are supposed to be PH balanced from the get go. I find no need to adjust PH. I only use Micro and Bloom for lucas formula though. If PH is off, fix it by all means.

Thank you for reply. I think that may be it. Next watering will be Tuesday will do straight PH'd water only. Do you think I should go ahead and run the same amount of water through them to help flush everything out? 5 gals or so? Or keep running water until it comes out around 5.8?

Also, I have never measured the run off of my Hempys. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Don't have to drown em I'd just give em straight water a bit over the hole since the excess will drain anyway and see where the PH is at. If it's no good flush another time or two but I wouldn't go much longer than a week without Nutes since this method is essentially hydroponics.

Good luck and keep me updated!

@yktind You didnt happen to sanitize your perlite with bleach did you? I had a plant look like that once and the only difference is that I sanitized with bleach (before planting) and didnt flush it enough with water. The good news is that I put into flower 3 weeks ago and its going strong. The same leaves look fucked up but the new growth is amazing!

Cool Thanks, Man. Will be updating when I see change. The buckets where actually quite heavy when I checked yesterday so I am letting go a couple more days before watering and checking PH.

No Bleach. The one thing I did do was put the Perlite into the shower and just left it on for a while. I did the same thing when I mixed it up with vermiculite. I think what I am battling is PH issues.

1. I was only using the colored dropper for awhile and didn't trust my Meter
2. I finally calibrated my Meter and checked it against the drops and I am pretty sure for about 2 - 3 weeks I was watering with a PH at or below 5.5.

I really hope these turn around. Its is so funny that I can run aero with almost zero problems and then take something that is supposed to be simple i.e. Hempy Buckets and just can't get it. Another contributor is the learning curve of working with a new medium but whatevs.

Thanks for all the help so far guys. This forum is GREAT... as long as you stay out of the politics section, haha.

Well I think I solved my problem with the Hempys... I have to throw away my 100 dollar meter. :wall:.

This picture is literally a few minutes after calibrating. Maybe my eyes are bad but it appears to be way off. The color is green on the test drops and the meter is showing low 6's which should be more yellow.

When I checked the run off from the buckets the color was yellow. So they may not be that out of whack. Only time will tell I guess. Also, did only water this week.
