Holding at 67% rH in jars

I hung dry my plant for 4 days.
Trimmed the manicured buds off the stems and into quart Mason jars.
My hygrometer is holding at 67%.

Should I just keep "burping" a couple times a day for awhile?

This is my first cure. Thanks

Yep. Keep burping a few times a day until you're below 65%. Then you're safer. Around 70% and up and you have mold risk. Maybe even 68%.

Also, I like to use larger than necessary mason jars, only fill them 1/2, then lay on their sides. Much more surface area of bud to air.

After they're below 65%, I consolidate and burp once a day only. You want the slow cure at this point.

I use these, makes my life much easier.

They maintain the humidity at 62%.

I dry until they're ready to jar, then burp em a for a week or so then leave them in the jar with the boveda packs.

The only mold issue I had was when I forgot to burp a few jars.

people dig the bovedas
I know!

I know why too! They work awesome!

I'd personally like to see a couple percentage points lower, maybe a 59 or a 60%, but 62% is damn near perfect.

I leaves the buds out for a bit and they're perfect fluffy when broken up, the flavors and scents really come out nicely when stored and cured properly.

I have some of those! Is it okay to throw them in at 67%?

Some of my packs feel like they have crystallized a bit around the edges. I forgot but isn't there a way to rejuvenate them?

I think that just means that they're dried out a bit. If you put it in your jar it'll absorb the extra humidity from the buds and gel up again.

I don't know if they get old or used up.

I've had a couple that seemed more saturated than others so I left them out in my dry basement and they were better. I keep them in the jars till they saturate, then leave them in a dry area till they dry out a bit. I store the extras all in a separate jar.

Personally, I don't think I would introduce a 62% bag into a 65% jar if it had the potential to drive down the bud humidity faster than I wanted. I'm not thinking that little packet is going to absorb all that water in the bud. That's not its function, right? I place a lot of value on a really slow descent from maybe 68% to 60%. A bit faster, maybe a week from 68% to 65%, but then for sure slow after that. I might take a month or two to go from 68 to 60.

Folks would say that's extreme, but it takes little time to burp a few times a week, and I'm not in a hurry.

I like to dry until they buds are below 70%, jar them up and burp them over the course of 2-3 weeks until they are about 60%, then they are ready to store long term.

When I want to smoke it, I'll take a couple out and put them in a smaller mason jar with a 62% Boveda pack (which actually reads 64% on my Calibre III hygrometer) and let them sit in that jar for a day or so just to moisten up nicely as whilst 60% is great for storing long term, I prefer them a little wetter for smoking.

Very good results with this method.
