Hello everyone!

We just got a outdoor greenhouse and im starting to get my fingers green. Im looking to start a tent in our basement and i think i havr iy mostly figured out.

Im getting a 4 pot dwc system and seeds from, probably, RQS. My only question as of now is moving the seedling from the rockwool to the netpot.

Do I place the rockwool at the very bottom of the netpot and raise the water level in the dwc pots to just touch it?

Do I put it just below claypebbles level and water it manually until i see roots touching the water in the dwc pot?

Now im gona keep reading up in here.

Peace!

Greetings from California!

Ok, so, what I usually do is pop 'em into the net pots as low as I can, then cover up the top of the cubes with hydroton (so they don't get any light on 'em, no one likes algae!) and keep the reservoir bubbling within 2-3 inches max away from the bottom of the pots. The bubbles will tell the roots where to go! Ideal hydro PH is anywhere from 5.8-6.3 ish. More dissolved oxygen becomes available to the roots at lower temps, so this is something to focus on. Ideal res temps are temps are 65-70F (18c - 21c). The cooler the better. Ideal environmental temps are 72-76F (22c - 24c). Ideal Relative Humidity in veg is 45% and in flower 30% or lower. As far as feeding goes, there are a LOT of different directions to go as it is a personal preference, but I prefer starting slow with 300-400ppm, and then steadily raising up to 600-700ppm during flower. Anything more and you will risk dealing with PH/lockout issues.

Hope that helps a bit getting started.

Welcome to RIU, keep reading, and find something that works for you! Wish you the best of luck!

Awesome reply, thanks buddy!

So until the roots find their way to the bubbles do you need to manually water the pebbles?

I just read up on PPM, I was gona use any root stimulant with some feedback like Bio Root along with Superthrive throughout the grow using autos, for now. Or is it enough using them just in the beginning?

If your bubbles are doing their job (1 watt of airpump per gallon will do - although I prefer 2 - the more bubbles the better (whole point of DWC)) then you shouldn't have to worry about hand feeding. If you want to, though, you won't be hurting anything. I am a fan of superthrive. I use 2-3 drops per gallon every res change. But, when you are handling seedlings "less is more" is the mentality that has always worked for me!

Wow your roots where huge, im hoping to get something close to that with my dwc. :D

I read many using bunches of nutrients and some saying less nutrients is better, when reading their post history the ones using less is long time growers so I went with that.. For now. :D

You should be fine as long as you pay attention.
That grow was my 5th in DWC and I nailed it.
Of course I was using a water chiller and had a ac line dropped right inside the tent.:)

Yeah Ill be satisfied if i get through flowering for the first run. They are just beautiful, which is the main reason I want too grow it as I dont smoke myself.

Perhaps ill try and taste some high CBD strain later on after getting familiar with growing the plant. I messed around with some psychoactive substances when i was younger(too young lol) and my mind is still a bit scarred from it.

It is a beautiful plant to grow and watch Mature.
Psychoactive substances and me where close once.
Body would not handle it now though.

what part of Sweden? I used to do some work in Ahus and Lund. Always loved going to Sweden. I'd go to Copenhagen for the weekend sometimes and would visit Christiania and pick up some smoke and hash.
