Does flower time start with flip or first pistol?

I count form flip but the time on a seed packet is just a guide E.G. 65-75 days that's a 10 day window so they could be ready some where in between or even before or after depending on environment and which phenos you got

it all depends from seed then could take weeks if not mature when flipped
if its a clone then its mature and usually starts a few days to a week after flip

This is also true i flip mine at 4-6" high they are from seed and in NFT they don't flower for about 3 weeks but still reach between 4 and 6 feet high

ok then so if i plant a seed under 12/12 it will finish in 10 weeks like the beeder state?? no i dont think so ive tried it like countless others i am not saying your wrong but going by breeders times even with the xtra 10 to 14 day a plant from seed thats a ten week flower will not finish in 12 weeks. autos maybe but reg or fem not a chance unless its cut early
if op cut on breeders times they wouldnt be finishedgiphy.gif

ALL BREEDERS as you state dont use the same medium ,coco and hydro grow really fast, but we that grow in soil have a whole diffrent ballgame going on.
DARTH you will find that most seed producers are giving you the estimated days,if it was dead on they would say a perfect day,you cannot go by those numbers but have to go by trich site inspection, those numbers are for you to start paying close attention.

Cmon dude really were talking what causes hormonal change in a mature plant . and that longer dark hrs happens when light changes so day 1 on 12 / 12 hormonal changes start..
Hence the preflower stage
Now if your talking from seed this is not a mature plant so going on 12 /12 the plant will grow for min 4 weeks maturing before you see first pistols 28 - 30 days from my experience..
many growers will place seedlings in 12 /12 to sex them faster again around 4th week from seed rather then the normal 7 - 9th week veg where plants have matured and show there sex naturally
So for instance you have a strain that is again approx 65 days from seed you can safely add another 25 - 30 days

Now many factors here like lighting, environment, food, and genetics all play a key roll..

That is exactly what i mentioned estimated around the breeders time although most breeders grow in soil coco, as for DWC awm no i do not know of any profesional breeders breeding in DWC do you

I don't count the first week i flip to 12/12. Almost anything I grew out went at least a week longer than the breeder said, and it take 3-7 days, generally, for a plant to fully switch to flowering. 8 wk strains i go 9 weeks from flip, 10 week strains go 11 weeks from flip, etc. But in all honesty, it doesn't matter, it's just a guideline..learn to read your plants, I've seen supposedly 8 wk strains take 10+ weeks to fully ripen.

i understand what you are saying but just because the plant is put under 12/12 it doesnt mean its started flowering does it

takes a few days to a few weeks depending on lots of factors like age/maturirity/light schedule plants dont only flower on 12/12 a few people use less on hrs this would imply their plants flower faster but thats not the case just look at torontokes thread and few his pal running it to.

i dont wanna argue i just saying u cant rely on the flick of a switch and breeders word to rely on it finishing on time.

like u said u can give or take 25 to 30 days

if op went off your post ^^^ he would surely be harvesting early going by breeders times
