I also feel Hammett should be on the list. Dude fuckin shredded at 16yrs old.
Van Halen, also IMO, should be up higher on the list. I mean, the guy practically created a new style(like other greats did).

Its tough trying to list them because they all have certain defining traits.
Cross generations and some didnt really record that much material and some got more famous than others because of non guitar related things.
Eddie van halen changed how guitars were played but then so did les paul and chuck berry for that matter.
Really tough to make a true list taking everything into account.
