Beginner friendly nutrients?

I'm about to get my first batch of clones soon, and i'd really like a good cost effective nutrient set. I went to the hydro store the other day to get most of my stuff, and holy shit. Nutrients as far as the eye can see, every company has 10-15 different products. So what I am looking for is

1) solid, cost effective brand
2) easy to use line

Im new so I wont be getting 5 or 6 different products to grow the best shit in the area code. I'd like a straight forward 2 or 3 part nutrient set. I have a mentor, and he uses house and garden, but I've heard a little bit of hit and miss about that on these forums. Im not going with dyna gro because most people call it crap. But it is worth mentioning that the strains im going to start with from my mentor are going to be fast growing, low nutrient intake strains. such as Catatonic or Pitbull. I'd like something quality, and hear mostly good things about canna and advanced nutrients, but people are often complaining about price. So whats simple, effective. and not too expensive?

Brew a good organic tea! It's nearly impossible to burn your plants with it and it's cheap and easy to do. Make sure it's aerated though. As I learned that through this website. Just do some research on aact. Its a simple and effective source of nutrition for your plants. You can also use the same mixture you do to water the roots to use as a foliar spray as well. Good luck

Your way or type of grow system will play a huge factor in which nutes to use so I'll hold off until you give the basic method your going to use.

I would recommend house and garden, its a solid nutrient.

But for a beginner you can't go wrong with floranova grow and floranova bloom. Use grow in veg and bloom in flower, it's very easy and self explanatory. Assuming it is soil of course.

If you are growing hydro you'll need a less thick nutrient, in which case I would recommend house and garden personally.

Soil, grown in foxfarm ocean forest, and probably gonna mix that with about ~30% perlite, or at least thats what ive read is a good mix on other threads.

Then if you want an easy nutrient, I would go with floranova.

I should've elaborated a bit. it doesnt necessarily have to be easy, But i'd like something potent that wouldnt make an overly difficult feeding schedule. ie, a lot of the guys on here will recommend like 5+ AN products. Aint nobody got time (or money) fo dat.

Okay, in that case I would go to house and garden. You would need soil A & B, and I would personally recommend Bux XL and either Top Shooter or Shooting Powder.
They also have an easy nutrient calculator which can be found here: http://www.house-garden.us/nutrient-calculator
Remember, less is more. Dont risk burning the plants by over-doing it.

Also if you do go house and garden, add A, wait 15 minutes, add B, PH balance, then add your additives.

If you're using city water, drip clean can also help with salt build-up.

About as simple and effective as you can get would be some good fertile potting soil.
I use a simple mix of Ocean Forest and Promix BX. Then I top-dress and feed with some compost tea at different times to get them all the way to harvest. The plants can only use so much when it comes to nutrients, and it's very easy to f**k your plants up with some of these "chemicals" once you throw the balance out of whack.

Do yourself a favor, save yourself some money, along with the headaches, and keep it Natural & Organic.
But of course, this is just one persons' advice. Good Luck !!

I keep hearing people talk about compost tea and following it up with "easy, natural, organic" and all im hearing is spend money to create more work. Maybe im just being ignorant, what exactly is involved with this compost tea? Honestly a small amount of house and garden sounded cheaper and easier.

yeah, we don't have the money to afford 5+ AN products so we use Miracle Grow

much easier and better yields than soil. less chance of pests too.
