Simple way to reduce heat?

So i got my clones last night, got everything all setup. but holy crap does that light make it hot. Whats a simple cost effective way to bring the room down a few degrees?

Proper venting - sucking air from the top of the room and pulling cool air from the bottom.
Adding a fan to push air from the bottom to the top also helps.

To cool your light you can use air cooled hoods like a cool tube or other more sophisticated fixtures.

I have an "adjust-a-wing" reflector that has no cooler or anything like that. Even with the central air running, my room is sitting at 81 degrees at plant level. Im thinking about taking my reflector back and seeing if i can get an air cooled one. Are they difficult to set up? All I would need is the air cooled hood, a fan that matches it, a dryer vent piece, and the piece that attatches to the duct, right?

You will need a vent and ducting at the matching diameter. Fix the ducting in place with zip ties and cover them with a good duct tape.

To cool an adjust-a-wing you can fix a small clip fan on the reflector itself to blow the heat away from the bulb. It doesn't cool the room as good, but with air cooled hoods the glass barrier reduce the light intensity by a few % (5-10% usually, depending on the reflector)

Unless your clones are really big, I'm willing to bet that you're running way too much light on them.

The simplest way to reduce heat is to reduce your lighting. No point in running more watts than you really need, right?

Next best tactic is to remove hot air from above the plants/lights and exhaust it from the room.

Adding humidity can help, until your plants are big enough to do it themselves.

I dont really see how one can run "too much light". Im starting with 6 clones, may move up to 8. I have a 600w system, though my ballast is set to "super lumens" one click ahead of 600w. maybe i should turn it down to 600? If i could cool it just 4 or 5 degrees i'd be happy. maybe i should try a clip fan.

81 degrees is fine for clones. They like it warmer and more humid than plants that are in flower.

thats good to know, but I dont really think its going to get any cooler when I flip into flower, unless I do something.

Ya, for sure. I'm just saying don't panic yet. They'll be fine at that temp untill you get it sorted.

honestly the clip fan doesn't sound like a horrible idea, Or maybe i'll just get a second fan and aim it at the hood?
