Total equality. Anything you can do I should also be free to do, anything I can do you should also be free to do. If anything is restricted to me based on arbitrary or unjustified reasons, that's not equality. Marriage is being denied to homosexual couples in some states because they're homosexual, that's an arbitrary & unjustified reason
Civil rights trump religious rights, and that's something theists in this country will either have to understand and accept or end up as another post in this thread

If they really want to get married just go to a state that they can get married in, just like if you want to buy pot go to a state that sells pot. Its not perfect yet but there is a way to get er done.
To me mariage is between a man and a woman and I don't go to church.

Points to Gay not being such a good thing. A lot of people feel that way and Gays are not getting a free ticket to stomp around making demands in the name of or on grounds of being gay. Be gay, that`s it. Nobody will bother you. You know swinging dick looking for a man is only crying because they were not included to a procreation incentive, so now lets re-define marriage to get them in on the free $$$ savings.
Married GAY, and married Procreation are equally as different as dead and alive.

Would you be happy with gay marriage in all States but not included in procreation incentives for obvious reasons ?
Would you favor adoption laws to exclude these Gay parents from the procreation incentive.
If all you claim on this site is true, Gays just want to be married, and should be fine with procreators receiving incentives.
But we all know it`s all about the $$$$, Has nothing to do with civil rights equality because the redeeming quality belongs to procreators alone.

These are the sole reasons for Gay movement`s attack on Federal recognition of marriage based only on what they feel is a violation of so called .."equality"

the incentives are for serving as a veteran of a foreign war, not procreation. many of these soldiers who are being denied equal benefits have families too.

Compare what you pay in taxes to what a married person with 3 children pay. Those incentives. It's just part of the social engineering of our tax code. Up until this point, the government didn't want to incentivize gay marriage. Now they are starting to realize (about a decade or two behind the majority of society) that social engineering at the price of equality is wrong. People are also starting to realize that gay marriage isn't the downfall of society it was once thought to be when these incentives were first offered.

Imagine if we didn't use the tax codes for social engineering and those incentives didn't exist for anyone. I doubt as many people would care about whether or not the government recognized gay marriage from both sides of the fight. I know people that have gone through marriage ceremonies in spite of the fact their state doesn't recognize them. They are just as married as anyone else in their own eyes and the majority of people who know them. We recognize their commitment to each other whether the state does or not.
