so just went up to denver and picked up most my clones! so f'n happy but so damn nervous. so heres the line up:
fire og
chernobyl
trainwreck/nL5
kong
triangle kush
gdp
some are in solo cups and 6 or so are in rockwool. im transplanting them into 1 gallon pots(most) and some of them into 2 gallon(store ran out of 1gallons). my question is how deep should i plant the clones? and how much should i water them after i transplant them? sorry for the noob questions.....

you just cover to about a half inch above the rockwool.
I'd put the solo cups into the 2-gals and the rockwools into one gals.
Honestly I put my clones into the party cups.. But I have space limits.
When you water, my favorite method for small root-zones in large media containers is simply a turkey baster.
EVERY grower should have a good turkey baster.
DON"T water the entire container when they are that newly transplanted, obviously you want the soil to be somewhat moist when you transplant but after that i'd just use the turkey baster to give them water around the base of the clone.
Make sense?
Reason I say not to water the entire container as most likely it'll retain too much water without the excess roots to absorb and transpire the water.
Actually another reason I like cover crops, almost makes it impossible to water too much, and that along with over feeding are the two most common "first-timer" mistakes.

thanx grease im using smart pots so i was gonna stick a chop stick down in the soil couple times and water in the hole. less mess i heard but turkey baster sounds great.
what do u run in veg grease 24 str8 hours of light?

Nah, sometimes I like to put clones outside in june, so I don't go above 15 hrs. Anything more than that and they flower at any night increase.
plus I don't want them to vege too fast.
Many growers have attested to an 18/6 cycle being as good as a 24/0 cycle.
I do fine with 15.
One thing though... you gonna flower them in those little smarties?
I'd go no less than 7 gals for flowering, transplanting from smarties is a whore... unless you just cut em.
The turkey baster also works great in suckin up the excess water from any kind of "catch-tray" you have.
And at that point you can also look at your runoff to see if its too dark. .AND you can use that run-off for nutrients for houseplants too.

you could finish them in 2-gals, but I wouldn't vege them longer than two weeks if you do.
Remember you want two gallons of soil per foot of growth.
Otherwise they'll get rootbound and look a lil pissed at the end.
ANNND you'll have to water a whole lot more often too

definetly not finishing in 2 gals. 5 or 7 gallon smartpots. most will be planted in my soil that i built(with the help of the awesome people of the ORGANIC forum) and a few others will be in str8 roots organic and lightly fed botanicare nutes<those will prolly be in 5 gallons and plants with my soil (7gals) will get just water and hopefully some teas. im goin to veg 3-4 weeks. hoping to use some tomatoe cages and possibly lil LST for the taller varieties. i dont have a timer for my t5 so i guess i will turn it off at night for now and i will run 18/6. goin to transplant most of them in an hour or so when the lady gets home and tends to my son.
btw the guy i got my chernobyl from told me not to transplant for 5-7 days. they are in sq. small pots. he said it would give the roots a better chance surviving the transplant. what do yall think? kinda made sense to me. its not like im hurtjng them. lmk thanx for the help peeps. im very excited to be starting this journey. PEACE thanx for the welcoming final phase!

Ah, it depends, every clone I've ever gotten in CA has been either a plug or a rockwool cube, so if your are already n soil i'd allow them to develop a root system, for sure, that actually is GOOD for them, helps develop a more dense rootball.

personally I don't frown on anybodys growing style.
To each their own, what I hate is when someone tells me what I should or shouldn't do.
Like telling me I should like blondes instead of brunettes or whatever.
Live and let live man.
I do think in a perfect world we wouldn't have chemicals, herbicides, or whatever.
But we don't live in a perfect world.
