What light cycle is best for yield on this strain?

Hey all,

It's nearly one week since
Planting my auto white widows, and so far as the lights aren't massively powerful (1 x 200W envirolite blue spectrum and 1 x 300W dual cfl), I've been running them 24 hours. Just wondered what your thoughts are on running 24 compares to 18/6, 12/12, not fussed about electricity costs btw.

Cheers

most people do 20/4 or 18/6. some say 24/0 works well too. I personally use 20/4 so they have some rest time. if electricity is not an issue do at least 18/6 for best results. I've grown white widow from dinafem (auto of course)

In your personal opinion, does giving them that rest promote their growth?

Agreed ^^^^ best of both world light schedule is 18/6 . I have done 12/12 and same strain grows ( produced slightly less yield ) for me. You can also LST early on autos also.

I'm dangerous. Have switched to 18/6... Am concerned about their size at the moment as they're growing but staying really short. Not really growing upwards. We are only a week in but was expecting them to all be a little larger by now.

I've heard that they will "shut down" and rest for something like 4hrs a day anyways, whether lights on or not. So it would make sense to shut the lights off for 4 or 6 hrs. I just run my veg area 24/0 just so I don't shorten the life of my bulbs, kind of a nit picky reason I know, and it keeps things like temperature at a constant, so I don't have any more temp swings then I can manage.

Have already switched to 18/6 - thanks for the info - very interesting!
