We live on it.hmmm boy, love that deer tenderloin on the grille!! friend of mine hunted and also traded pot/bump for meat. had deer every way you could think of 3 or 4 times a week.
Believe it or not that is off a leg. When I clean them I separate the individual muscles and tendons. Then I can bag it in small bags. One meal worth in a bag. Freeze em and eat later.hmmm boy, love that deer tenderloin on the grille!! friend of mine hunted and also traded pot/bump for meat. had deer every way you could think of 3 or 4 times a week.

Nice! That's the way to do it right there. Screw that factory farm meat at the supermarkets.Pulled it from the freezer. Doe from last bow season.
Marinade, half a beer, half cup Italian dressing, tablespoon soy sauce, teaspoon of Worcestershire, pepper to taste, fresh minced garlic to taste. Bake on 350 for 45-60 minutes on broiler pan with marindade in the bottom.

I imagine you are an easterner? White tail, good eating. I'm a west coaster and never liked our native deer, very gamey. Spent a few years in MN and did some whitetail, changed my mind about venisonPulled it from the freezer. Doe from last bow season.

Thank you.you do nice butcher work
I like the game taste. I eat rabbit, squirrel, deer turkey. We also raise chickens and on my father in-law s place we raise beef. I've had elk. I liked it. I've sampled most big game.Nice! That's the way to do it right there. Screw that factory farm meat at the supermarkets.
Have you tried Elk before whitebb? Where I grew up the deer was kinda gamey tasting, but the elk was phenomenal!
I like the taste but I tone it down for the kids.I imagine you are an easterner? White tail, good eating. I'm a west coaster and never liked our native deer, very gamey. Spent a few years in MN and did some whitetail, changed my mind about venison
That's why used it. Lol.Beer helps with the gamey taste...beer goes good with everything...even in cheerios
Fuck yeah- better than anything in a store and better for you, too.We live on it.
I'm game. Lol.I'll bring the beer!
Same here. I want a quick humane kill. I eat every piece of the animal. What bits and bone I don't, I boil outside for dog food.Head and heart shots are the only good ones. I wont shoot at a deer if it sees me. I think the adrenaline spoils it and makes it tough.
You should coat the bones in olive oil and bake them. when they are golden brown its perfect for stock. I freeze it in ice cube trays. when they're frozen soak in warm water for a few seconds and then crack them out(they stick to the trays). Then I put them in freezer bags and use them when I make gravy.Same here. I want a quick humane kill. I eat every piece of the animal. What bits and bone I don't, I boil outside for dog food.
I do save some bones. I make beans with them or potatoes. You should coat the bones in olive oil and bake them. when they are golden brown its perfect for stock. I like elk better too. Or if the deer is young it's not so gamey.Nice! That's the way to do it right there. Screw that factory farm meat at the supermarkets.

I think so. Older mature bucks tend to be tougher and gamier. Old does can be tough to.I like elk better too. Or if the deer is young it's not so gamey.
Elk swiss steak style is the bomb
