Hightimes had pretty much been a joke my whole life i don't understand why anyone would take them seriously... and considering how long those lights have been around wouldn't you want some newer technology?

I don't care about YOUR plants.
You've got a really interesting comment history. Only like 15 comments. Here and one other thread where you are again talking about rebranded apollos, and how you got banned from another site. Why do you care about apollos so much, seeing that's LITERALLY the only thing you have talked about.

Wonder why you got banned.

I do...and they did release new lights recently. I would also be interested in testing a COB, but I don't want to build it myself.

Tang banned me on the autoflower forum in 2012-2013 sometime. Why? Because I questioned the validity of the 0.25w LED that GN was passing off as a 3w Epistar, which was also in a rebranded Apollo. If I'm not mistaken, Tang banned Eraserman too around that same time.

I don't care about Apollos, I dislike them, and dislike the companies trying to pass them off as original and theirs, for a huge markup.

I will speak up if I wish. It's a public forum. If you don't like it, too bad. Become a mod like Tang and ban me if you don't like what I have to say.

Eraserman? Close enough I guess.

Actually, I never got banned there, but I watched many others get banned over nonsense. They had contacted me about becoming a sponsor, and I told them that I'd get back to them, I then created an account there, and mostly just sat quietly and watched. I did not like what I saw, and left on my own.

There's really no sense in trying to convince guys that use these kinds of lights that they are inferior. Let them find out on their own. They'll learn.

So when I get a great yield from my harvest on Friday what will I learn? Are you saying I would have been able to save a couple dollars on electricity? I could have yielded more? Or just that you think I over spent?

If I could have saved anything on electricity it would have been negligible at best. Maybe $5-10/mo.

I know I'm going to get a great haul, so I highly doubt I would have done better with whatever you're suggesting. The results will determine that next week.

I may have paid a little more. But I think it was worth it. I have had great results. I had one minor issue at the end of a grow, which had little to no effect on my yield, and they are replacing it for free...and it has already more than paid for itself.

You guys can talk all you want, I really don't see any problems...

You guys are all up in arms because why? I could have a few more dollars in my pocket? I don't even think that's true with the yields I'm getting.

Intensity, intensity...intensity....You could have spent the same amount for double the intensity.....thats my lesson....

Going from 350ppfd to 750 ppfd...makes a difference...and with the same amount of wattage thats called efficiency....
it surprises me at how much people don't understand this concept. I consider myself a clever enough person but i also haven't been in school for a decade now yet i can still recognize that is s considerable step up! I like sharing all this great knowledge with my wife, who happens to be a physics major, and she is very impressed with what the people around here are throwing out it's all very exciting ones you understand it!

All of the above.
1. You could have bought a more powerful light for less money
2. Said light would have cost you less in electricity to operate each month and by much more than a few dollars
3. Your yield could have been better, not just by a few grams, but by a couple of ounces
4. The density, and overall quality, of your buds could have been better

One minor issue? The lamp broke, plain, and simple.
It's amazing that you decided to label this thread "LED Grow Light Comparison & Review" when you clearly have no experience using them. It's funny that whenever we, those with the experience of having used multiple brands of LED lights, make a comparison to your light, you tell use we don't know what were talking about. If another company, or brand, of light even gets mentioned, you immediately poo-poo it, and start trying to talk up your light again.
You should have just called this thread "The Uniformed Thoughts of a Poorly Disguised LED Shill".

Lol! I never claimed to be an expert. I straight up said I've only used one. The title of the thread is from the video...It's an LED comparison video...hence the title...I thought people might actually find it interesting.

I posted the thread to get people's input on the video. And other LED companies. I had no idea that non COB lights are a big no-no on this forum. So much hate.

Seriously. You guys should really calm down a bit.

educate yourself get with the times this isn't just hype no matter how many ignorant claim it to be.seriously do some research check out why it's a big deal if you got some knowledge of what light means for your plant you'd probably reconsider cobs

Well if you are right, then I will hear about it. Or see it. And they will be everywhere soon. Right now all I see is a bunch of over zealous people ranting. If it's all true the light will speak for itself. There would be no need to berate and belittle other people attempting to contribute to the forum because they don't happen to own a COB.
