For sure. I have Ulcerative Colitis. Smoking definitely helps. I was to the point of getting i.v medication every month, Immunosuppressant's, anti-inflammatory drugs, the whole nine. These drugs had bad side-effects and even increased my odds of getting lymphoma. The worst part is that they weren't helping! Started smoking again and it all but cured me.
It showed up earlier in my life after I first quit smoking and then went away after starting again, It didn't take me long to realize and put two and two together.
I was diagnosed with ibs back when I was a kid. This all went away when I was a teenager because I started smoking. But later, in my late 20's, I was forced to quit smoking due to different situations and it all came back, but much worse. I was diagnosed with UC and struggled with it for over 6 years. I had to do something, so I went all in. I finally started smoking again and it all but went away. I'm a smoker for life, seriously, there's no going back. I'm in an "unfriendly" state too, its still very much illegal and I'm risking my job every day but there were no more options. It was almost life or death at the point I was at.
So, yes. Smoking definitely helps with any type of bowel problems
