Would you still recommend DG over HG? my hydro store has the HG Aqua Flakes set of A(20 liters) and B(20 liters). I am trying to figure out if doing the DG grow and bloom 30/70 mix would be more cost effective than the HG Aqua Flakes. Any insight?

Taking advantage your post about Floralicious plus i'll think that my final setup will be:

Foliar Pro, Bloom, Mag-Pro (just in case since i run RO), Pro-Tekt, Great White, Molasses and Floralicious plus.
Thank you very much! :weed:

I personally like DG a little better just because the pH is more stable and you can tweak the Grow:Bloom ratio in flower. That is something that you can't do with Aqua Flakes.

As far as cost goes, they're going to be fairly close to be honest. H&G is cheaper by the gallon but less concentrated.

FLP has sugars in it so you could probably cut down the molasses or just not use it at all.

Thanks for all the advice homebrewer. Plants are looking killer. In week 3 at the moment with paradise seeds wappa. First hydro run with this strain. Have grown it a few times in soil. The RO filter completely cleared up the strange leaf spotting. Never thought my 200 ppm water could have been the culprit. If this thing ever let's me pm I'll send you some pics.

Sorry to rehash this but looking over that link - the whole article is marketing BS. I would bet you my next harvest that the folks over at AN or hired by AN wrote it. It reads very similar to pretty much everything they say. Go to their site and read the descriptions if you don't believe me. Funny enough that they come out on top and "Final product here was fantastic" and "I did not include a schedule here as I strictly followed manufacturers recommendations." I mean. Obviously.

Not to mention if someone is going to go through the whole ordeal of testing this and documenting the whole thing, they're probably going to 1) keep it to themselves as this information is valuable and 2) be getting better than .80gpw. I mean, seriously. They're this super advacned grower but they have to explain what EC is and what HPS means? Why would someone so knowledgeable waste their time let alone even think to explain these things? Give me a break.

Bottom line is that there are only a couple dozen factors that are going to decide how your harvest goes. 14 of those are in your fertilizer. I personally prefer to use as few bottles as possible and save my money for other things. Can you get where you want to go using 18 different bottles of overpriced crap? Probably... but the margin for error is going to be a lot smaller. I'd rather feed the plants what they want in the easiest and most economical way possible. If you're a drama queen and like to make things difficult just because --- then go make yourself happy and stop bothering the rest of us.

This is very very old, as you see someone mentioned it floating around
I was in the original thread, well observing
It's been a long time and while from memory I cannot say pics were posted in the thread but Advanced Nutrients was not his pic of the litter. He liked earth juice as his pic. If that means anything. He claimed the end product of earth juice was better AN had the highest yield, not by much.

I wouldn't mess with ej but I would like to try advanced nutes now.
GH aswell I might do my own side by sides
FF Advanced GH

Hey HB,

You said you use pro-tekt as a PH Up. Does this mean you add it last? Because the instructions say to add it first.

I don't use it in place of pH Up but Protekt will increase the pH of whatever you add it to. If you're mixing up a res then yes, you need to add Protekt first. But if you find that you need a little bump in your pH after you've already mixed everything in your res, you can use more Protekt at the end with no issues.

Update-homebrewer,I hit them with a few 1tsp per gallon grow i may over done it they are super dark green, but its a kush and not sure how dark should be,,should i be at 1/2 tsp gallon useing ro water all the way threw?i read homebrewer you used 1.25 mil a gallon ?im thinking i am overdoing it,,frazzled,im giving plain ro water two feeds after each nute feed,so 1.25 ml 1/4 tsp gallon all the way threw,or half 2.5 ml? or start low bump up kind of thing, outdoors is looking good in 15 gallon pots,,plain 80 percent peet with cheap bag soil 20 percent,i have one plant yellowing up on me i think i over watered, been a heat wave almost 100 few days so i watered each day think too much forsure, also attached is the plant yellowed up on me i see signs some orange on edge leaf also lower leaf, alsoproblemplant.jpg .yellodyna.jpg ty

Disco - I think your plants look good even though I think 1 tsp/gal is hot. Just read your plants and back off if you see some burn or clawing. Or go with 1/2 tsp/gal and watch for yellowing at the bottoms of your plants. You're doing fine, don't over-think it.

Homebrew, I've started some seeds a week ago. I am curious as to when you would add foilage pro to ro water. Flood tray with rapid rooters in hydroton. Thanks man!
