Help with ideas for 4k sealed room

Window shakers are not sealed. They leak smell really bad, they work for veg if you have to. But mini split is the only way for flower IMO. Just board up the window on the inside and cut a whole for the mini split through the board and out the window , seal the window with some great foam. No hole through the wall for the mini split. I would get a 24k for the 4 1000s, you can run them without air cooling, ballast in room and dehumidifer and still have full control.

I always budget 2500 per light in a room. That will get you everything from equipment to install. And it will all be the best of the best. Do not buy cheap equipment in this line of work. Nothing worse than bud rot because your cheap ass dehumidifier stopped working.

How tall are your ceilings?
What is your style of growing? SOG or large bushes.

2500 per light is a great way of looking at it. That will for sure get you to the end. I did 4 lights for 3 years and I was an absolute tight wad about electricity and my bill was 12-14 per month. Dehumidifiers were what was getting me .

Does the 2,500 per light include electricity and nutes to get through the first run?
Maybe. Use your head this is an open number . It cost me 18 grand to setup my first 4 lighter cause I had to build a box and pay the rent and electric and eat through the first run. If you don't have a backup plan and you have all your eggs In one basket ... You need to be a strong person and self motivated to make it

Thank you for the info. I like your idea with the mini split a lot. I'm definitely not trying to go cheap on the equipment if I need to wait to get more funds for this project I definitely will. I would like to ideally veg anywhere from 1-2 months with a setup like this.

I can run 4k rooms here for 300 a month in power. I like ideal air 170 pint dehumidifers for those rooms. 9.5 amps. Complete controll. Along with an ideal 24k mini split. People don't ever equate for the style of growing they do with their dehumidifers; a grower using promix will need a bigger dehumidifer than one using rdwc. The promix holds moisture, and when it evaporates from the promix it goes into the air in your room; while the rdwc water is covered and doesn't have nearly the effects on your enviroment.

Yes, I use about $1000 in nutrients per cycle in each 4k room. You can do the math for your power bill very easy.

4k in light 12/12 48kwh/day
Mini split is gonna be roughly 24-36kwh/day
Dehumidifer is around 12 kWh/day.
Then account for fans, air pumps and other small item 12kwh/day.

Roughly 96 kWh a day. Now multiply that by what you pay per kWh. It will give you a rough estimate of what your power bill should be.

I agree with most everything Carolina ever says but fuck those ideal air dehus lol. If you going industrial go with the Phoenix 270htx. Easily 30 gallons a day out of there. Ideal air only does 80 pints at aham I believe . With your lower budget homie I would go with some kenmoore 70 pints . 2 of them .Or go on craigslist they usually have new ones for smokin deals on there . At least in my area . Electrical varies big time. I pay 34cents per kW/hr here and that doesn't come with Vaseline . For environmental controllers go with the autopilot green house master controller . Or the equivalent one made by the other brands

The 170 pint pull 170 at 80*F and 80% rh and 100 at 80*F and 60% rh. They are all I have ever used and have been more than happy with them. Msrp is like $1500. How much is that pheonix and what does it pull water and amp wise. (I'm not talking shit or anything like that, I'm actually curious.)

My mistake on the ideal air, I had one and it didn't pull as much as I was hoping for I was pretty bummed .I paid 22 for my Phoenix but the msrp is 2699 I think. It does 161 pints at 80/f and 60rh . Amps is 8.9. Surprisingly I have been getting close to 30'gallons a day with it

also Sante Fe, SaniDry, and Quest. all really good Dehu's. all rated at AHAM. All had service ports for refrigerant recharge, which is huge for longevity

You'll never regret the minisplit. a window unit that size would use a whole 15a 120v circuit. the mini will be on its own 240v leaving power in room for ur dehu and fans ect.

You hve my attention. Less amps and pulls more water. Might have to upgrade.

I had the standard ideal air 100 pint, and it didn't pull what I needed either. And it pulled 9.4 amps. Their 170 pulls 9.5 amps. Doesn't make much sense.

I chose the Phoenix over the quest because the Phoenix has wheels and is easily movable and can be placed anywhere in work area . If your going to hang the unit I would go with quest . Both kick ass. Best of the best IMO . Very durable workhorse equipment . Ideal air would be nice for the reason of no questions asked exchange policy at the hydro store .

If you are paying 300 bucks per 4 lighter that is fucked up haha. I pay around 1200 per 4 lighter. And that's a single dude conserving power .
