It is good if your just getting started...
I mixed it with soil and planted. They burned real bad and I had to chop them pretty quick... I waited 4-5 weeks and used the very same soil with very good results... I also top dressed with it and made EWC once a week. Top dressing will still burn SOME plants and others loved it... Bio-Tone has fungus in the mix for $2 more.
Well actually I have a little experience with all bottled nutes earth juice, flouralicous plus, maxicrop, hygrozyme, floral nectar, bud candy, big bud, bloombastic, overdrive, rapid start ... Dry Fulvic, azomite, bat guano, and buffalo loam... Great success... Im looking for a simple basic mix for my partners because they feel what I go through is too much..It is good if your just getting started...

Thanks because I wouldn't have let it cook... That's why I love this siteI really wanted to move to a better mix but I just bought a mini split a/c and it took most of my money. Espoma is cheap and easy to use. I was just saying dont mix it unless it is going to sit for a couple of months. If you use it right away, topdress. I use tea when the leaf curl starts to happen.
Worm bin huh?ill check into it...Look into a worm bin and throw away the bottles! I retired 2 flood tables and 4 mega gardens and I still have bottles laying around.. I even used dyna-gro in my soil. That is when I came up with brown thumbs on both hands
I was gonna base the promix with it and add endo/ecto... Was gonna water with earthjuice bloom and guano tea with bloom enhancers at the right times... Actually I was gonna try to use the ej bloom for a boosterI use Epsoma products myself as an amendment to my soil mix, along with alfalfa meal, blood meal, bone meal, soft rock phosphate and greensand since I can't locally source kelp and Garden Tone/Veg Tone contain at least some kelp and I'm sure Tomato Tone does too. My results speak for themselves.
I take a small handful, lift up my mulch and top dress my plants every couple weeks too with great success. I've never burned my plants, but then again, I grow some tough motherfuckers, so who knows lol.
Im so inexperience with dry nutes... Im starting an organic aeorponic grow with the same stuff I had success on... I have inexperienced partners and I want to learn something I don't know while Im working with what I already know... I know my homies at rollitup will help me out!I had my best grow when i let it cook for 6 weeks. I probably need a class on my hydro table but I put it away. I had my worse experience when I used hydro fert in soil. It kills
OK... Im about to go to work, get to the store and grab some things. I'll probably start with a few mixes in the tents to see how they respond before I go big... Thanks broYep, the basic mix I've seen the most is one part humus, such as castings, one part peat or coco and one part aeration material such as perlite or lava rocks for example. When using peat, it's advisable to use a cup of lime per cubic ft or 7.5 gallons of mix. I use that base for my seedlings and they stay nice and green. Add 3 cups of amendments per cu ft to the base, such as kelp meal, alfalfa meal, neem meal, crab meal, fish meal, soft rock phosphate, etc, as well as 3-4 cups of rock dusts, such as granite or greensand. The key is to let it cook a month or two, or at least a couple of weeks. There's a wealth of info here on building a killer soil. Good luck.
Why do you use tea when the curl happens?I really wanted to move to a better mix but I just bought a mini split a/c and it took most of my money. Espoma is cheap and easy to use. So is it considered organic?I was trying to learn GreaseMonkey's formula. I am far from an expert. Most people on here look down upon Espoma. It is all slaughter-house byproducts. Look at the contents on the bag.
Check out the "Open Show and Tell Organic" thread.Any bud porn?
Oh OK... So alfalfa meal has to cook longer to be nutrient available to the plants..Yes it is organic, but it does contain slaughterhouse by products, the same as blood and bone meal. Some "purists" look down their noses at those and that's understandable. I'm not a "purist" though. I do use more alfalfa meal and skip the blood meal when I have the opportunity to let my mix cook a couple months, but when I know I've only got a couple weeks, the blood meal and/or bone meal are ready for uptake much faster. I actually like to use both, because I get the early and long term effects.
