Normal internode length? Too compact?

These plants were grown from seed and started about a month ago. They are 14th generation seeds from breeding back the same strain to themselves and picking the best plant to keep the seeds from. I have been selecting for compact growth, potency, and full dense flowers with minimal stretching. All to make an ideal indoor strain. The internode length shows the generations of selective breeding. At what point is it doing more harm than good to have compact growth? image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

How much stretch do you get in flower. My concerns would be moisture retention and mold. Other than that, compact away.
Beautiful plants by the way.

Very little stretch at all. If I flower them at 15 inches it is about the 15th-20th node and they will mature around 3ft. I keep them cool, 70 or so, very low humidity, 30-50%, and have had zero fungus issues. I have had parts of the flower die off due to it choking itself out. But that has always been if I try to grow them big without topping them. Just too much flower on the top.

My NL auto started out like that but then stretched a little bit in flower, thank god. i was worried that the light wouldnt penetrate through the thick canopy.

which brings me to my question, what type of lighting are you using? Im sure HiD with that many plants. How much wattage?

These are under a 400 watt MH that I start the seeds under in a 50 count nursery tray. I pick the best looking 30 out of the 50 because that is what this spot will hold. When it's time to flower I will put them in three gallon square pots, move them under two 600 watt lights for a week, then switch the light cycle. I will save two males that I will put back in this spot for pollinating.

Wow I didnt know a 400 could have that many beautiful plants. I enjoy looking at your garden, I have afghani kush and my plants seemed quite bushy (their only 23 days old just put them under MH today.)

Those have to be some of the most compact and uniform plants I've ever seen. The group pic looks almost like it was photoshopped..lol

If I still had my locker I would replace my picture of Farrah Fawcett. We didn't have photo shop back then.

I have had plants where they were stacked so close I had ten or more nodes in less than two inches. I culled those plants because I know they would cause problems. The layers of leaves were touching each other and there were moisture problems.
