Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome

I've been in the hospital for 5 days and they have finally diagnoses me with Cannabinol Hypermenesis Syndrome. This cause me to have extreme stomach pain and uncontrolled vommiting for days on end. Does any anyone else have this or experience with it? I obviously don't want to stop smoking mainly for sleep and what not. Other than cutting way back or stopping completely, what do you think?

I'd also be curious about what daily amount someone was taking just before experiencing this

Everyone i know smoking excess of 3-4oz a week has mild photophobia. It is the only statistically known side effect via bioaccumulation. It subsides in about a month, 2 months and mostly resolved but will quickly return...atleast in the cases ive seen. Smoking resin seems to drastically hasten progression

Yeah, I stick with flowers and edibles and I'm fine now.

I am or at least used to be a heavy smoker. Probably going through 6 bowls a day maybe. This shit fucking sucks no doubt about it. Some of the most and longest, mon-ending pain ever. I've been down for 5 days and just now starting to get back to normal. Obviously I'm not wanting to stop smoking cause I love it. I figured I am going to take a month or two off and maybe give it another shot. I'm definitely going to have to not smoke at as that's for sure.

I was smoking the strain ICE from nirvana at the time. It was grown the same as all previous grows I have done to date. I have a new grow going using all FF products. I think of just not smoking anymore till that new grow is done. I'll give it a shot probably start very slow only at night to help with my insomnia. Back to the ambien for a while I guess.

Is there a thought that this is syndrome might be avoided with natural or organic growing methods?

There are several main theories.
Resin heightened response, this suggests the possibility of a compound degrading causing symptoms. As these products break down they become more stable with longer halflives in and out of the body. There are way too many to fully understand. But
Cannabinoids are known to alter sodium channels and the eye, there may be a product like cbn that has pronounced inhibition

Heavy metals have also been brought up, through feed and foliar sprays.

(I do not currently advocate flushing, nor is that where i lean)

But it is a possibility. Not a likely one given the rate of decline. I lean to a specific heavy terpene or more likely heavier or "secondary" cannabinoids.

However the consumption of fresh cannabis especially "dro" over "reggie" causes this. So there are no strong theories at the moment. But it is on the back burner. Give it another 7-10 years

I've been reading a lot of articles about this this morning. It definitely seems to only affect chronic heavy users. There are only a few therioes that speculate why...

Some theories note that cannabis slows food movement through the stomach, which could overwhelm any anti-nausea effects in the brain that usually helps cancer patients. It could also be due to a build-up in the body of marijuana’s main compound (THC) over time with heavy daily use. Stores of the drug in fat then become released in times of stress, when your body converts stored up fat for energy (why people sometimes lose weight when extremely anxious or sleep deprived), causing a “reintoxication effect” that overloads the body and leads to nausea

As a long term user I also have had those symptoms, especially with extracts and dabs. And Iit really was severe with fresh juiced cannabis. I do not recommend fresh juiced cannabis. Stopping what your doing, changing the way you ingest it will help if that really is the problem. I now use decarboxalated tincture and the change has not cause the stomach problem. And now I smoke, but not dabs, extracts, shatter. It ceases to be medicine for me when it make me sick.
