Seed not cracking.

I put it in some seedling starter soil I bought. It's just pretty much tiny wood chips. It's winter here in Australia and it's been 3 days and it hasn't cracked yet. Temperature is around 5° - 15° Degrees celciess every day. Should I put it in a wet paper towel in a ziplock bag and put it in my pants to keep it warm until it cracks then put in back in soil? Is it normal for it to take this long to crack in the cold weather?

I like to start mine in a shot glass full of water until it cracks and place directly into soil. That's too cold, should start them inside

Fuck a week , take it to the next level as stated heating pad , paper towel rung out and enclosed container no light. 3-5 days
enjoy as you test and fail or not but learn , document and review.

bro 15C is way chilly for cracking beans. 27C is more like it. Its better to germ them in soil than wet paper.

Patience is impt esp if its cooler.

Ive read about seeds popping through snow!

WTF? WTF? WTF? and WTF? Whats wrong with the 24hr fool proof germination method, put them in damp paper towel and in 2 plates on a light heater...in your pants lol
As usual I'm with ya there Bud but you know theres some that just detest the paper towel thing. For me, it always worked so I dont fuck with what works. I have enough other problems.
And congrats on 2000 posts. Your prize is on its way.

Same here, I have them in rockwool blocks after 24hr's germination but if some want to wait weeks.....lol
