dripper?

I'm new to dwc. Is it better to just leave the roots soaking in the water without having a dripper which cycles water from the bottom of your bucket back up and drip down the base of your stem and then back into the bucket? Is it necessasy, or does the bucket create enough humidity to cater for the parts of the roots which are not soaking in water because you obviously cant have the roots drying out and dying?

There are two main ways people are doing DWC one is with buckets/tots with water and airstones in the bottom and the roots just hang into the water.

or Waterfarms. They have a lift shaft that brings the water up and drips out over the medium.

The roots from the Waterfarm also end up in the water.

A Waterfarm setup is not needed. Just water and an airstone is all the is really needed.

I have grown both ways. 5gal buckets with airstone is what I like best.
