Haha, danger will robinson! That's some serious metal!
Best looking DIY light I've ever seen. Here is one more.
Thanks HydroDC , Was checking out your light and it is extremely nice and well thought out. Your going to grow some monsters under it.Best looking DIY light I've ever seen.
google "cxa3590 datasheet"do you guys think it would be safe to run a cxa3590 3000k cb 72v on an arctic alpine 64 plus?
Jerry gave me a quote for 3000k cb bin and I can't find the data sheet anywhere.
Hi JavaCo, how did you attach the COB to this heatsink ? Thermal Adhesive, tapped screws, kapton ? I know that was a long time ago, hope you remember but I'm working with a server style copper heatsink and was wondering best way to attach a cob to it ?Going to go with this CPU heat sink for the 3590
I drilled and tapped the holes and used a ideal led holder. But you have to watch out copper is pretty soft easy to strip out. Also you have to watch out for the heat pipes you don't want to drill threw those.Hi JavaCo, how did you attach the COB to this heatsink ? Thermal Adhesive, tapped screws, kapton ? my heatsink is one of these

I was gonna tap for some screws, but then I realized that the bottom copper plate isn't very thick and wasn't sure if the screws would hold
I used these for the fixture But i needed some that could do 190 volts so they go up to 300 volts If your driver is less then a 100 volts those are meters are about half the price. .http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-0-300V-10A-IN-Shunt-Voltage-Current-Panel-Meter-Digital-LED-Voltmeter-Ammeter/331591951946?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20131003132420&meid=d82977b3353f4c359a084729dc905204&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=281554793416One more question for you Java - what volt/ammeter are you using in your fixture? I've looked at a few on ebay, but i'm not sure which ones are good and which ones are junk.
Thanks! I've bookmarked that link. The only tricky part I'd have is that it needs a 5-30v DC power source, and the fans in my cabinet are both 120v AC. I might be able to run a line from the 12v DC power supply in my veg cabinet though. I'll have to ponder this for a bit.I used these for the fixture But i needed some that could do 190 volts so they go up to 300 volts If your driver is less then a 100 volts those are meters are about half the price. .http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-0-300V-10A-IN-Shunt-Voltage-Current-Panel-Meter-Digital-LED-Voltmeter-Ammeter/331591951946?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20131003132420&meid=d82977b3353f4c359a084729dc905204&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=281554793416
They are DC meters so you would need something different for the fans. You could use the 100 volt ones If your measuring 5 to 30 volts save some cash. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-100V-10A-Voltmeter-Ammeter-Blue-Red-LED-Amp-Dual-Digital-Volt-Meter-Gauge-/251627913878?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a96314296Thanks! Sorry, I kinda confused things with my last comment. I'd actually be using the volt/ammeter to monitor the LEDs on the DC side of the driver, and I am running more than 100 volts on the circuit so I think the first meter you linked would work for me. I'd just need to find a 5-30v DC power source to power the meter. I could use a cell phone charger I guess, or tap into the 12v DC supply that I'm using to power fans in my veg cabinet. They are DC meters so you would need something different for the fans.
