My favorite veg panel was an Illumitex F1 based one but it was always slow out of the gate in terms of germ/seedling stage. Wonderful, strong growth once the plant matured, though it tended to cause stretch when training. I was just using some F3s recently in the veg cab for small plants and clones and turned them off because the plants looked like shit, (might of been tooo intense for the space??), and now have everything under some 4000K COBs which seem to work well in my grow room except the COBs stretch my Goji OG to shit and I will be adding some F1s to see if it's an intensity thing or just how Goji reacts to an environment where there's quite a bit of green. I don't think it's a heat thing causing the stretch because it was doing this at 76-78 temps too.
So in other words, from what I see from my little perch, that with light quality, (nm), tied to environment and strain, (as well as efficiency and intensity), there is no general "best", just what's best for the grower in their environment and the strain or type of plant they are growing at that moment/stage of the plant's life. At least that's how I'm calling it this week
but would think R/FR/Green heavy light would be a great germ light. Basically that's what's on the floor beneath the canopy, right?
Hey P, why would 18/6 cause stretch out of the gate if the plants are getting enough light???? I do 12/1 with clones 3 feet from the source and get good to great node interspace. IDK, I'm not trying to be argumentative, even though I have seemed to ended up here again
, I'm just a confused, under-educated, (and highly a-medicated) stoner who digs tech so pardon my ignorance.
