Drug testing welfare recipients is not a bad idea. (Im a drug user and i still agree) but i believe should only be done in cases where the person is unemployed and not disabled.

I now get medical coverage through welfare. I think medical coverage should not require testing because drug addiction is a disease (disagree all you want but the AMA and World Health Organization agree) I also work my ass off, as does my wife. We have a 13 month old child so insurance is important and we couldn't afford it.

I see folks in the projects driving nice cars, on an iphone, rocking Jordans and designer clothes while me and my wife work our asses off just to qualify as BROKE.

There is nothing wrong with drug use, but if you arent working and need govt. support (my tax money) you should have bigger priorities than getting high.

The testing should be hair samples, and those with a positve should be required a lab urine test to verify that the use was recent.

Schools that recieve federal funding should perform the tests for free if they have the capabilities (helps education and saves money)

You can say it violates tje constitution all you want, but i dont think the constitution gives special rights to those who live off taxesollars. If people have to pass a drug test to work and pay taxes, why shouldn't those who live off that money have to pass one too?

Welfare is meant to be temporary, but some stay on it forever using it as if it is a right. Its not fair to those of us who pay for it.

Think of all the money saved if all the "hood rich" folks who don't even want to better themselves were thrown to the wolves.

At a team meeting i asked the GM why it was almost required to use government assistance to survive while working here, when the CEO who had resigned that week was given a 64 million dollar severance package plus medical benefits and his full pension.
