Outdoor east coast, too much rain..black mold?

anytime you suspect mold to be an issue, spray with hydrogen peroxide. that's how i keep powdery mildew down in my vegetable garden. i would say looking that up would be a great place to start. i can't tell from the pics if its mold or not. can you rub it off? it almost looks like dark purple pigments...

I agree that you should test whether or not it comes off the leaf. if it does, and it is mold, do the right thing and throw that shit out. You either consuming this or your letting someone else use it. Either way you should not be smoking this. if anything keep it to turn into shatter or use it for an edible. mold is fucking gross and should never be smoked. Using hydrogen peroxide is only going to put more moisture to the problem of BAD ventilation which is where your correction needs to happen.

how is bad ventilation the problem when the plants are outdoors? they have all the friggin air they need... humidity is the problem. you can spray the peroxide and wipe the leaves clean if necessary. do not spray in direct sunlight. get them in the morning before the sun is high in the sky, and the wind and sunlight will dry them as needed. peroxide kills mold spores. also... your plant has no flowers on it... soo i see no problem if you eradicate the problem before it starts budding. If you have mold problems when it starts to bud... then get rid of that shit and don't even worry about it lol.

Nah doesn't wipe off..looks almost like it got frost bit,,, the lowest temps have been mid 50's. They are about 6' tall so they should be able to handle about any stress at this point, but I just would like to hear from someone who has experienced this before.. thx for the replies so far!!

I'm also on the east coast and the rain has been non stop. I would say it doesn't look like mold but that piece you have is just snipped off I would take some alcohol on a napkin and wipe it with that. Mildew doesn't always come off with just your finger.

Seems ok but I'm looking at it in my phone.

Just curious, did you have this outside from day one or did you move it once you finished veg? If you moved it, when did you put it outside? You have a grow journal for it?

I took month old clones and hardened them off the first two weeks of June. They are in 25gal totes and are about 6' tall and just started showing pistils.

I'll let you know around the first of November lol... Ive always believed having more than enough root zone is better than potbound and slowing halfway through the stretch!!!

I agree with you there, though I would be careful because the soil with no roots in it could grow moldy and ruin your roots. You might be ok if you have *really* good drainage.

Yeah I've haven't seen this before if it defiantly doesn't come off it might be a deffeicancy of some sort. If you find out what it is keep us posted cause I'd hate to run into that.

could be phosphorus deficiency... especially with temps below 60, phosphorus becomes harder to uptake. I always use the one gal of soil = one month of growth. seems like 25 gal is overkill. doesnt dry out fast enough, waste soil, water, nutes, $$$. but to each his own! never did a 25 gal outdoor lol, hope it works for you man!

25 gallon ain't much bro, checkout "treemans buds", I think he uses 100 gallon smart pots and grows 5lb+ trees!! More roots= More buds
