"Pressure tank", it's a tank (as the name suggests) that keeps water at pressure after it's been pumped up from the well. It's always located near the well head. Losing electricity is FUCKED because if you're on a well you have no water. (My husband bought us a good generator earlier this year, and when we lost power for two days we still had water and enough electricity to run both refrigerators AND could shower, yay!)

Didn't he get a wiring diagram for the unit when you bought it?

He says it didn't come with a diagram. he checked all the boxes and there wasn't any. :blsmoke:

He found a small leak along the pipe and fixed it. Hopefully this will work because .....well:?....no shower, etc etc

thanks SM;)

That's kinda fucked. They make it so that people can't DIY and are locked in to dealing with a certain company. I have a real hair across my ass about the company that drilled our well and how they charge. FUCK 'EM! I'm glad he figured out the wiring, plumbing is easy enough to sort out. It sucks not having water.

yeah I thought that was really odd too. You'd think they would at least give some info on how to install it.:?

I would think that you would hook anything up that needs pressure first without any and make sure you have it secure with washers, o-rings, etc. so it does not bust once it builds up - not sure though. That's my logical guess.

yeah...that does make sense.
Last night someone mentioned something like that and hubby ran down and the pressure was up past 80.

If it goes too high it will cause leaks.

Guess what we have now?:wall:
I wish my hubby wold have just called a plumber in the first place. If one guy didn't want to do it he could have called another.

Plumbing isn't something you experiment with.

Alright!
Chicks RULE even if you don't know anything like me:confused:

No it is not the hot water tank.
That is new as of last year.
It is the water pressure thank from the well. We live in the country and are on well water.
The builder just did the bare minimum and didn't even use the proper fixtures so hubby has gone out and bought all new stuff.

The pressure seems to be ok and now he is saying that he thinks he has it. I hope so. He's quite the handy man. There hasn't been anything in this house that he hasn't been able to fix yet.

Thanks so much Florida chick.

Chicks ROCK!!!!:hump:
Is the pump one of those pressure pumps with the pressure vessel on top?
If it's self priming, it should just suck up and get pressure...then do its BZZZZZZ...CACHUNK....BZZZZZZZ...CACHUNK or maybe it doesn't sound sick like that :)
You can tell I haven't followed all 30 plus replies to this hey Lacy...

No probs cuz when you think about it....that's how a bong works! You don't want to suck the water out of the stem you know because that causes the pressure to overflow...so I just put my amateur physics into the equation LOL....duh no blow bubble until you know not to swallow bubble....bubble taste bad like bong water.
