I'd just use thermal paste. it's easy to use and lasts for quite a while before needing to be reapplied, if ever.

There's videos on how much to apply to the COB's.

Im fairly new to LEDs and am looking to purchase optic lighting 250 watt vero29 led today and i see they offer customizable spectrum of 3000k, 3500k, 4000k, and 5000k. Was wondering which one is best for my 3x3 grow tent? i want to use it from seedling to flower, was hinting towards 4000k any help would be appreciated as i am trying to make purchase today.

Best advice I can give is go watch Greengenes videos. He does side by sides of the spectrums they be all up on that there youtube's.

I use 4k myself. I like the looks of Gene's results with it too. Cree and Vero's are slightly different if I am not mistaken. One has slightly more blue if I recall correctly. Not sure which one.

Since i never use thermal grease (supraspl said grease is better) and saw what happened when you done it the wrong way, i decide to go with thermopads.I believe there is less chances to go wrong with pads.
If nobody can help me with this, i will buy the 30X30X1mm 6w/mk and cross fingers!!

It doesn't say in the spec sheet what size to use? Thermal paste and grease are the same thing. You don't want to use thermal adhesive. it's different and meant for specific applications. I've read some people use it on GPU's, personally never seen it done and wouldn't advise it. I suppose different regions may call paste and adhesive the same but in North America thermal paste and grease are the same :)

Thermal paste is one of the easiest things to do. An even layer on a smooth surface covering the metal on the cob. I like to use a Zig Zag pattern across the entire surface.

You're never going to learn unless you try :) Try and you will succeed it's really not hard. Just keep a bottle of rubbing alcohol handy and the stuff is easy to get off hands and hard surfaces. DON'T GET IT ON YOUR CLOTHES lol.

It's one of those things that seems overly technical and tricky it's really no different then putting some goo on a piece of metal. You just want the "goo" to squish out and cover the enter metal surface.

Ok i will try, with Artic silver...we will see...but i am really very good with a razor blade, i use some every day...and i love to put butter on bread (on the dry one too! Which is harder to do without break everything...!)so now i fell like a professional TIM applier...
But if someone could answer my question it will be cool.

Any recommendations on something affordable that Amazon carries (have a gift card there), that would be approx like a 400W HID? It would be for a regular closet space with just 2-3 plants
