I use 860W CDM lamps and I like them a lot. The 315W systems are even better.Take a real serious look at Boulder lighting and their CDL lights.....The new frontier for lighting!
While it's not the place for the best growing info High Times just did a lighting issue with these compared to everything else...

This is excellent advice right now. COB LED is the future, blurple is the disappointing past of LED lighting.yeah me personally i wouldn't run anymore ether n8 medium sized plants under a 8 bulb t-5.. realistically all may not be keepers anyway but it comes down to money and personal choice.. LED IMOP is a waste unless your buying the newest COBS
Ask around on the LED section of this very forum. Those guys are doing some world class work, and it's a lot less expensive than you might think!Ya if i can dind cob lighting that will be in my future budget ill be getting some. Just got a 6" air cooled hood of ebay so that should help my flowering room since atm i have to leave the door wide open
yep.... i remember when the very first Disc LED system cam out in high times for mass purchase... i think it was like dang near 10 years ago now... my buddy bought about 12 of them at 500$ had a beautiful veg and kept ranting and raving how awesome the led was... then flower came... and his finish buds looked like a 4th week HID flower... it was horrid. that made me stay far away from them but now they've had the time to start catching up and redesigning things.. i still don't think they are there yet but in contrast to say the silly blue/red LED systems i would say COBS have them beat. Id run a COB system for veg. i can see them being as good or better than some T-5 setupsThis is excellent advice right now. COB LED is the future, blurple is the disappointing past of LED lighting.
The guys on the LED forum here have been cranking out some very impressive looking buds for years now with these COBs. It's getting cheaper and cheaper to build the lights to do it with, too. You should check it out.yep.... i remember when the very first Disc LED system cam out in high times for mass purchase... i think it was like dang near 10 years ago now... my buddy bought about 12 of them at 500$ had a beautiful veg and kept ranting and raving how awesome the led was... then flower came... and his finish buds looked like a 4th week HID flower... it was horrid. that made me stay far away from them but now they've had the time to start catching up and redesigning things.. i still don't think they are there yet but in contrast to say the silly blue/red LED systems i would say COBS have them beat. Churchhaze has done it too..he swears by it.....Look at the "lighting" thread in Advanced Growingi would however contact AquariusPanta on here he is getting a newer COB system and is looking for growers and grow journals his system looks quite nice from the pics and may be more in line with what your wanting and in your cost range. he's a super nice and helpful person.
I read the article and yes got me looking .Just my 2 cents but if you can handle the heat a 600 HID would be way better for both veg and flower. Also I have been looking at the ceramic discharge lights.
Im on a budget. Once i get this harvest in ill be using that money to get a real grow room goingjust finished a full run 3 plants with 2 area 51 rw75. i used a couple different cheap LED's and got decent growth before this grow, but "good" led lights gave me nearly double the output. spend more now and get good light if you're gonna go LED. 236 grams of quality took out of my closet.
yeah i can feel that but ill hit 100-120g on a 3 gallon grow and ill put 6-3 gallons under 1-1000.. i mean granted your using less energy and less heat but id have to line my walls to get the same production rates that I'm getting off my 1000 HPS...just finished a full run 3 plants with 2 area 51 rw75. i used a couple different cheap LED's and got decent growth before this grow, but "good" led lights gave me nearly double the output. spend more now and get good light if you're gonna go LED. 236 grams of quality took out of my closet.
