exhausting

So i ordered a air cooled hood yesterday and im wondering about exhaust. Could i hook a 6 inch inline fan up to pull air from my light putting it back into a different room but not pulling fresh air in through the hood but just the growrooms air? I have a 4 inch fan that could pull air into the room and was going to put a 2nd 4 inch in to pull more. Its kind of hard to explain atm lol.

Yeah you could do that as long as you weren't trying to use co2. Just a thought but why run 2 4"fans? Why not just use 1 4" and instead of cutting the other 4" hole, make it a 6" hole and let that be a passive intake? plug the 4" intake fan into the temp control with the 6" exhaust fan. Or better yet, if you can get away with it, just use a big enough passive intake? You won't need the expense and risk of running intake fans. Search the site, you'll find plenty of guidance on sizing.

Thats true i wanted to do that but i have a 4 inch inline already installed and had cut a second 4 inch hole due to it not being enough air and never had the money to buy that fan till now lol

If you already have a 4" cut why not just run that way and see if it meets your needs. If the fan you have in is a decent one and not just a duct booster, you probably have enough intake to do the job already, especially if you intend to use a carbon filter also. (highly recommended unless you're 100% legal) Save your dough on the extra 4" fan or if you already bought it, save it for a back up to the other 4" or even the 6" exhaust in a real pinch.

Ya they are just the duct boosters. Ill post pics of the room and fans in a few hours when i get home. Im thinking maybe i could do like u said and just cut the holes to meet each other and have a big ass intake from there.

I'm a big fan of keeping things as simple as possible and a non-mechanical hole is as reliable as you can get. Get the size right.

If you don't mind me tossing another hunk of advice at you, do yourself a favor and skip the home made scrubber if keeping a low profile is truly important to you. Keeping smell under control is hard enough with a commercially built unit. Stealth is never something to cut corners on. If you go with the home grown scrubber, you'll almost certainly need to oversize it enough that, all said and done, you'll spend the money anyhow and will still have an inferior product.

Take it from someone who was where you're at now on the learning curve of running a personal grow op, There is almost nothing you can build that will do the job as well (or at all) as just biting the bullet and saving up the cash for the proper piece of equipment when it comes to lighting/atmosphere control. Sucks, I know, but I spent plenty of bad money learning that lesson. Other more experienced growers will be through here that will agree with this sentiment.

Either way you go it's fun to grow weed. This place is a good resource for growers, All for the low price of free, too.

It is somewhat a stealth i just need to cut odor down some so that people outside dont smell it. Im kinda worried atm cause i have my tent that 4x2x5 that will veg and a closet the same size but 8 feet tall for flowering. I have 2 plants im going to put in flower soon but have 9 other plants that just popped there leaves. Im worried about space lol first time i ever think ill say i hope a few are males

How about people who come to visit you? One of the hardest things for me to do is smell my own grow. For others it will smell stronger to them than it will to you because you will be more accustomed to the smell. You likely won't notice a failing scrubber as easily as as guest will. It's a much bigger possibility than most of us realized when we first started out.

I would have to agree on the carbon filter. I would just buy a professionally built one...or two

Scrubbers aren't just for smell pollution either. Remember that they will improve the over all quality of air inside your room/tent. Keeping dust and other unwanted particles off your plants.
If you do have a idea for a less expensive DIY let me know Im always down to make something myself if it its effective and will save me money:bigjoint: good luck keep us posted!
