What is the problem or problems?

I am new grower and have had my plants in vegetative stage for 8 weeks now. Some of the plants are showing signs of possible nutrient deficiency. This problem is however not visible in all the plants although they are all planted in the same soil, conditions, watering and nutrient feeds so far.

In the photos enclosed you can see that some of the leaves are showing drying ends, while others have big dry spots more towards the body of the leaf. (photo 1,2,3) I have also noticed that some of the plants have stems that seems to be the red stem symptom that is talked about in nutrient deficiency discussions. (photo 4) I have also noticed that one of the plants has pale green edges on the leaves of the brand new growth. (photo 5).

Please help!!! What am I looking at - how do I start treating. I planned to go into flowering in the next two weeks but want to sort out any lurking problems before then.

You got a lot going on there...
What is the soil?
What are you feeding and how much/often....List everything you add!!!
What is your water source?

You've overfeed them leading to pH problems, leading to a lock out....and it's gone on too long.

Start by watering it with straight water. Add 2.5 - 3.0ml of Ca/Mg and pH it to 6.5
NO added nutrition for 7-10 days!

I might adjust my solution after you answer ALL my questions (they are very important!)

Soil is mixture of potting soil, cocoa peat and perlite.
Water source is tap water which I PH to a level of 6.5 - I have access to rain water in a tank but this has proven to have a very high PH level to the acid side and I am not sure that it is very clean inside the tank so a bit hesitant to use it.
They have had two very diluted feeds of Nitrosol and one foliar feed of general fertilizer which contain nitrogen, calcium and magnesium. I noticed that my soil PH has changed over the last two weeks from 6.5 to 7 and in some plants just over 7. I added small amounts of dolomitic lime to the soil but it has not seemed to make much difference.
In my country I have not been able to find a nutrient that only has one or two elements - all our nutrients have a combination of elements which makes it difficult to only add something with Ca/Mg. Is there any other source of these nutrients that I can use maybe in a natural product?

Desperate - do not want to loose my plants after all the hard work and learning curves :(

Epsom for the Mg (1.5 tsp to a gallon of feed and eggshells crushed well up and spread on soil for the Ca....

Hmmm. Nsol is what 8-3-6,,,,,That's ok.... Maybe a hot soil ?

They look high N....

You water soil and the pH does a big swing one way and as it dries it swings back! pH is not a problem here from your intel.
Do the plain water thing as directed and restart nutrient in 8 days.....Look to the new growth to show any cure as the leave will not "repair"

Thank you for the great help. I read somewhere that blackstrap molasses also has high calcium and will work better than eggshells as these take long to release the calcium into the soil. I have the molasses and see that it has a calcium of 258mg per 500g. Any advice on whether this will be OK to use or should I rather avoid due to all the other stuff that is in the molasses? On the Epson - must it be agricultural Epson or will normal household Epson do?

Any epson will work...home is just better refined....I use it to make a supplement.

Do you have pH down? Use that or the acid you use for adjusting your water.....Put some of the eggshells in the acid and adjust your water pH with that....instant down with Ca!

Milk is an emergency source of Ca......and Molasses will help the bio's in the soil, but is a very low source of Ca in the amounts you would add to water for use..

Dry wall crumbled up fine and be careful of amounts used....like 5ml of dry wall on the soil surface

Do have pH down but going to go for the eggshell remedy - Thank you for the great advice. Last question (know there has been many LOL) should I flush the plants or just continue with the clean water for now?

Could I please ask your advice - have posted this in two forums but have not received any answers from members:
I am ready to put my plants in flowering and have been growing under CFL lights. Although I ordered the warm white globes several weeks ago the supplier has now informed me that he will only be able to deliver the globes in 6 - 8 weeks. I cannot wait that long as the plants will outgrow the space available.

He has suggested that I use Mercury blended globes in natural warm white 250w & 3200k. Will this work? Can you maybe give me some advice on this?
