Should I top her?

Hey everybody, I'm wondering as to whether not I should top this Lemon Kush plant. She's approximately 2 1/2 months is August 17th. With it being so close to September I'm wondering whether or not it's too late to top her? Do you think she's worth topping? She's only showing pre-flowers as you can see in the third picture

Hey man,

That is a beautiful plant, looks like she'll give you several ounces easily. I agree with po boy, since you already have preflowers, I would say that topping now would be counter productive as it will at this point delay flowering. I find it helps to top early to mid season, as a rule I try not to top past mid to late July. Last year I kept topping right into August and I severely delayed my plants flowering phase. They actually didn't start budding until after the first week of September, which is more than a couple weeks late for my strains/area. Awesome plant man! just a quick tip, try to leave her go until the pistils recede and the calyx's swell up nice.

I was thinking it was too late to top any more. This will be my first harvest so all of the tips are very helpful

Right on man, i wasn't sure if how new you were but It's good to hear advice. I was very disappointed my first year when I chopped in mid September thinking the plant looked nice and ready.....Little did I know the buds were going to shrink like a dick hitting cold water. I find the buds hardly shrink, if you wait until there swollen like mini pineapples LOL and the white hairs have all changed color and receded into the calyx. Only saying it so your not disappointed like I was on at least one or two occasions. Good luck Brotha!
