i have mine at 8"
blasting the fuck outa some super sour garlicy dank
but put up pics of whole plant from side. so can see, distance between nodes after settling, and at new growth. whos to say your bud is even fluff? most weed i get on the street even "dro" has been compressed quite a bit, usually unintentionally

18" is the typical distance I would keep my HPS bulb from the top of the canopy. going closer encourages stress and the bleaching effect can be seen on your plants if too close.

what kind of reflector are you using?

what are the temperatures in your room like?

also.. some strains will just be denser than others. the ones you have listed are not what I would consider to be quality genetics... although I am a little picky when it comes to genetics and strain choices and I stay the hell away from autos and fem seeds.

pick up a pack of Bodhi gear. get something that will make a decent yielding crop with big dense nugs..like his tigersmilk any of those 88g13hp crosses.

do your best to keep the top of the canopy even.. and blow a fan over the top of the canopy..not directly on the plants. raise and lower your light as needed. keep temps as close to 70F as possible and humidity low but not too low.

it takes some trial and error but with each grow we learn what's best for us and the plant. you'll get there.

environment makes for 90% what you need to pull off a successful grow.. good genetics, patience, and a proper nutrient regiment make up for the rest.

good luck!

i keep my 1ks about that sometimes.
i do also purposely light bleach some of my strains slightly on ocassion

everything else is crap. nothing wrong with fems.. slh is dank..
my last harvest of some 40 master kush x's hit 100°f for most of flower. still went purple, still dank, and great buds. no need to really worry till your hitting 90 consistently. and its easy to counter still

difference in night and day temps.. light too far away

pick one...or both
perhaps the bulb is old, or the reflector glass is dirty?
could be the soil/media
nutrients, genetics, airflow/co2, water quality, etc, etc.
considering you said it's all your strains I would guess it's an underlying issue.
For me personally, I haven't seen heat to be an issue, I grow indoors and out, and I've seen my temps get to 100 deg f and they don't slow down as long as you keep the soil moist.
indoors I regularly see temps in the low 90s, with no adverse issues in regards to density, my biggest issue with temps is that it accelerates the friggin reproduction rates for the myriad of mites that are in my forest.

ive never had issues with heat really either and its easy to get around. however a drastic change between night and day temps can do some funny things.
Jimmyjonestoo made a thread yesterday, showing some familiar odd veggy growth.. what did he do? fixed his ac..

ive grown in all sorts of environments, we can grow year round here in west tx. so the occasional snow fall in flower to +100° weather ive used no nutes lol, organic, hydro, straight perlite to outside soil etc. fluffy weed almost always equals low lighting. if not, night/day temps.. nothing else has ever correlated. my buds are nice and chunky

my thoughts as well.
in my experience fluffy buds are usually due to irregular light schedules, shitty light quality (cheap bulbs, LOW light, or wrong spectrum),or genetics.
