Found a seed planted it and now here I am

Hard to say since I added my filter and fan shortly after putting in the HPS, but for the little time I had it running with no fan the HPS did run a few degrees warmer. With no fan pushing out the hot air I had to keep both bulbs at 50% or temps would be 93+. Now with fan running HPS is running 600W or 100% at night and holding around 83-81.

The fastest way to prematurely wear out HID lamps is to underdrive them. This is especially true of your MH lamp. You can shorten its life by 90% by running it at 50% of its rated power. No bullshit- my info is straight from Philips white papers on the subject.

I do wish I'd seen this thread before you went out and bought that 600W setup. I'd have sold you mine! LOL Seriously, craigslist is your best friend in Colorado.

Google Philips 860W CDM lamps. The lamp costs the same as other HID options, but it runs on an old school thousand watt magnetic ballast set to MH... and it runs at 860W on it.

I've tossed all my MH lighting outright and my HPS in flower in favor of this lamp. Keep in mind it needs to run in the vertical position only. Since its such a fantastic lamp for vertical grows, you might consider the approach.

Ive learned my lesson and will go thru craiglists list in the future thats for sure.. Im always down to experiment with my lights and setup once I get my 1st successful grow under my belt..

Ive heard that about the bulbs also, but was not prepared as well as I should have been for the heat, but now the issue is solved and running 100%..

Seeing my grow room how many 860W CDM lamps do you think would work 2? have you experienced with LED's at all (looking at you other posts seems like you've been in the game awhile)?

After this 3 plant grow I plan on just rolling 1 plant as I'm just growing for myself and for fun.

If you're just going to grow one plant, even a 600W lamp could be overkill.

Good news is the seed I found is a female !! so 3 females flowering.

Started Nutes also... just adding 1.25ml of earth juice bloom with 32 floz 2 times a week (this combo puts my tap water at ph of 6.5)

If you plan to do it again, you might be interested in growing techniques like SCRoG or SoG or LST to make your plants a bush

Not much to update flowering is going good and ill post pictures in the next couple of days. Sativa leafs have turned yellow but flowering still looks good so I'm not sweating it.

OG Ghost X Animal Cookies: has popped thru the soil
C-99: germinated and dropped into soil yesterday
These are going to be my next 2 grows. Going to run 2 plants from now on as 3 plants is a tight space with my small tent and 6 inch filter on the ground.

Coming into this my 1st grow I was very worried about the smell thru-out the house and planned the best I could to make sure I wouldn't have to worry about this. Now over 10 days into flowering I can say my planning as worked beyond what I thought and almost itching to get a smell of the ladies.

19 days into flowering ill work on better pictures next time.

The big one on the left is the seed I found and growing great the other (far back) is the indica clone and seems to be doing well.

The Sativa plant is struggling and didn't get any good pictures. Thanks to this site I figured out the problem and it was a newbie mistake. Ive been feeding my plants Bloom only and noticed the Sativa plant showing signs of Nitro deficiency and upped the Bloom ASSUMING it has Nitrogen UGH.. Anyways I had some other Nutes here and sprung into action.. Also ordered the Dirty Dozen pack from Fox Farm to cover me in the future.

Both seeds have cracked on my 2nd grow (Outside light and moved inside tent when dark outside)
OG Ghost X Animal Cookies: Mosco
C-99: Mosco

Also going to add Delicious seeds Cotton Candy to the 2nd grow since the C99 isn't feminized. Both OG and Cotton Candy are Fem seeds.

When the temps allow I've been using my 300W CFL with the 600W HPS.. not sure if the CFL helps, but figured more light the better?

Adding the CFL to HPS lighting is an excellent idea, just wish it was enough. Swap those two out for one 860W CDM, lol

Welcome to the game my friend,everything looks awesome.My only thought would be if you have any temp issues maybe put your filter on something so it's higher up in your tent since heat rises.But again looks great.peace

Thanks I've boosted the filter up a little bit but going to look for better setup after this 1st run...

So far so good.. I held off on Nutes as long as I could and took a little damage but everything running smoothly.
