I almost bought one of these before I found the DIY COB lights. A part of me wants you to use the Mars Hydro for parts instead of just chuckin it.

My guess is that garbage can was not the final resting place for that light. Notice there was no smashing and it still looks to be in good shape. Tim strikes me as being smart enough to sell that hunk of junk and recoup some of his investment. Which was my original advice to Realstyles, sell it, don't smash it, but he wanted to be dramatic. Tim's display seems more symbolic, but it still gets the point across, that Mars Hydro is junk.

Actually if it has heatsinks you should take them out. And drivers are drivers and extra drivers are always good in a pinch or for when you want to run some 730nm or UVB diodes on a separate circuit/timer. I mean fuck Mars Hydro and all but there's no telling anything to Reals but you seem to have more on the ball so I'll say you are just filling up our landfills with shit and wasting the environment. You should do something more positive with it than copying some braggart's borderline retarded actions.

Sorry if that's harsh but it's bad enough people won't listen to a lot of folks around here about those panels and I tend to get frustrated.
