I caught this 42-43lb buck a little down river of that^

The coleman Hatchery is the only federally ran hatchery here in California. What ever they're doing, they are doing it better than all the other state ran hatcheries. We get allot of 4&5 year salmon up there

On a normal year, we would be nailing the shit out of them already, and they would still be relatively dime bright with that salmon colored meat. This year fucking blows up on the rivers. And yet there's a plethora of fish waiting to come up.

Dude, what's fucked up, is you can practically walk across them up at the feather river hatchery. So many have already blown up through, but hard to catch when they shoot up that fast.
But try try try is what I do. And then cry cry cry. Lol
I'm hittin the feather in about a 1/2 hour just got done with the gardening.
I might do redbluff tomorrow.

We were catching limits of nice salmon right outside the Golden Gate yesterday....might worth the $110 boat ride.

We are finally starting to bang em, but this year sucks

went fill the feeders, brushed 2 blinds, cut grass, and seeded a food plot at the camp yesterday. I brought 25 minnows with me. the bass bite was on.
caught 10 . this was the biggest of the day I landed. all were released, no fouls
ten point and a six point still hanging around.
and I am ate the fcuk up with chigger bites, I had my thermal cell on..not a skeeter bite, but I didn't dust myself off with sulfa power, didn't wear boots . I know better.

I find I catch the bigger bass out my pond in winter. this one fell for a live worm on a bream hook, rigged Carolina style. I fill the worm with a cc of air. it makes the worm swell and float.

I use a diabetic syringe, draw a cc of air and inject it into the worm. it swells up and makes it float. you have to use a small hook, I use a number 10 bream hook. if use a bass hook it wont let the worm float. I put a split shot weight about a foot above the hook. the weight drags bottom but the worm floats...fish it slow.
